WSBK Wheel Test

I have a gorgeous swinger in the way so will have to pass, did you see them fiddling with installing the wheel nut hahaha.

other then being visually offensive, It must be an experiment for aerodynamics.

Heal up Chaz!

Man, what a last lap. I wonder how long he'll be out. A fractured/broken vertebrae is no joke. I've never really liked or disliked Rea, but he scored a couple points in my book. Stopping on the cool down lap to check on Chaz and then his post race interview really showed how upset he was. Seems like a genuine guy.

...... day for Ducati.

Length of recovery on that is all across the board. Just depends on the severity. He was trying to pick his bike up, so at least we know his vertebrae wasn't turned into powder.

That was a classy move by Rea in my opinion as well.

Looks like some .... from Tron. Do not want.

I used to run a full disc for time trial cycling years ago. Very susceptible to sidewinds and wake vortex problems. No way in hell these would work in SBK! But if used for land speed racing without too much crosswinds....YES!

That was a bad deal with Chaz, knucklehead should have stayed down. I'm glad it wasn't his neck, shades of SIC58.

He made sure he got up and then over the line without even looking back after running over Chaz (have a look at the footage again), then thinking about it on the cool down going to see him and then later explaining how it wasn't his fault because he had nowhere to go.

Sorry, but that is utter ......... After the crash both Rea and Chaz look at each other as they get up to get back to their bikes. It's racing. You crash, get back up and go......

If Rea saw Chaz running towards his bike he had no reason to suspect things might be as bad as they were.

I truly believe Rea was gutted that Chaz was hurt, it wouldn't have hurt Tom Sykes to show some compassion.

I don't often comment on negative threads, but J Rea is truly the 'nice guy' of WSBK.

Not how I saw it, but do agree about Tom and his unrestrained glee!

watch this video....exactly at 9 seconds, Rea looks at Chaz as he mounts his bike. If he saw him moving he had no reason to suspect there was major damage to him.

Strange. When I saw it live, I saw Davies clearly make a hand gesture towards Rea that I interpreted as "ok". In the super slow motion it was barely noticeable. Racing incident though, and Rea had no way of really knowing. It appeared he took a good look while he was sliding along. Based on his actions post race, he seemed genuinely concerned. But none of us will ever really know I suppose.

Yes points taken, I must just have a dislike for the guy.

I saw an interview of rea afterwards and he was clearly shaken by it. This morning he said that he was messaging Ducati yesterday constantly for updates. Chaz is up and about. Dislocated thumb and a fractured vertebrae. He aims to be back for Laguna in 3 weeks!

Sounds about right. While mine took months to fully heal. I was back doing MMA circuit training within a few weeks. There were just really specific movements I couldn't do for several more months. I would imagine with the best care in the world, and the typical mentality of a top level racer, they would make that happen a lot quicker. Just going to swell up a ton after the weekend is over I would imagine.
