USA / East Coast WV-VA rides

Saw one at the Yam dealership the other day, pretty bike! We got some guys with some tricked out R1's that go on the rides so you won't be alone.

I took a deposit on my APE last week. That bike is blast as you know, but when you're as tall as a giraffe the ergos just don't play so nice.

I'm not going to lie it feels weird being on the street again.

There are a few others in your area that know the roads I was telling you about. We used to ride every weekend when I lived up there.

Back in the late 90's and up until 2006 or so there was a huge sportbike scene that would head to the mountains every weekend.

Sperryville at one time believe it or not used to be bustling with activity.

There still are quite a few people around but none like to hit the mountains at a good clip.

Addition?

I bought a 2016 R1 Anniversary Edition.

Is this an "addition" to your Ducati or replacement?

Would you mind posting up as many pics as possible please?
Be sure to get shots of the exhaust too please? :D

Thanks and best wishes with it. Unreal how that can come right out of box and onto the track about as stock as can be! I know Josh loves it !!

Brother the Duc is still around.

I took a deposit on the APE.

The new .... is less than a week old.

This is from one of our rides last year during a warm day in December. The East side in VA was pretty dry but we had to slow it up on the WV side as there was some damp seepage coming down the mountain.

I recognize 33 outside of Harrisonburg.

I'll bring a few elbow draggers with me. Burncycle is a member here, and that can ride circles around most blindfolded.

Yeah... That was before I got way too fat to ride fast. Too old too, that last off back at the end of '14 took me a while to recover from and its slowed me down something fierce.

Sunday the the 15th is Bikes and Breakfast in Clifton. Unfortunately, that's more my speed now. ;)

You'll be fine once you get back in a group that rolls. Let me know and I'll bring the Apes and R1's out for a mountain track day

Nothing like the sound of v4's and Crossplanes thundering through the mountains

Next ride: Sunday, May 29th 9am, Front Royal Exxon. Technical route down to Lexington where the speeds will be down but the lean angles up. Forecast looks nice and warm so far so no excuses.

7/10 8am, Front Royal Exxon, Lexington run. Leather up...knees down....

I was up over the weekend. 340 miles on Friday and 220 on Saturday. I headed down to Lexington on Friday via 211, 42, 39, Skyline, 60, etc. Good times.

Sounds close to what we did. From Front Royal we hit the back roads to 33, 220 to 625. 625 to the awesome part of 250. 600 down to 39 in Lexington. Then 501 to loop onto 60 and back up the same way. Best ride in a long time!
