Fitted some new gold coloured Proti Ti Caliper bolts. Weight saving is about 80 g across the 4 bolts. I also painted the spacers in a Gold spray, but not really that happy with the result so will get them anodised and see how that looks.

I have been using a lot of Autosol polish to clean bolts on my old Ducati. Today I had a look at the two bolts on the rear suspension linkage. (See photo) I got a phillips head bit and reversed it in the drill and wrapped some white cloth with the polish on it and gave the inside of the bolts a couple of spins. Came up nice.

The last photo is an after pic of some polishing of the rear brake lever and linkages, foot peg and some bolts after I cleaned them. I should have taken some before shots. These parts were almost black and the rose joint was rusty. 38 years of grime and dirt. Takes a long time but results are good.

Remember when you are replacing the Caliper bolts the OEM Torque is 45nm. The Ti should not be that much. I went to 38nm. Do not forget to put some Ti anti seize grease the whole length of the bolt. If you do not do that you may have trouble removing them later.

AHA !!!

I see you finally came around to adding some of this to your ride eh Brad?

Been trying to get all yoos guys into Proti gear since 2012 when i brought them into the US thru Bellissimoto - yes, you read that right-lol. I befriended the VP in 2012 which started a great friendship - Sherwood Wang and I still remain close today and the guy is absolute first class too!

I don't think there are any more nuts or bolts on my Tri that can be replaced with his gear and I always attempted to tell everyone here how awesome it was - including the boxes they use to ship it to you as well, FIRST CLASS!!

Congrats Brad! -Good for you brother! - Hey, I may even have a bunch of extra Proti stuff piled up in my garage that Im willing to part with extra cheap? Lemme see what I have there.

Thanks Gunny,

I have actually been buying from Sherwood for a while now. Have lots of his bolts on my bike. I switched out from Pro Bolt due to poor customer service.

I have spent more than I should have on pretty bolts on my 1199. I am pretty sure though I first read about them after seeing you post about them here a few years ago.

Good to see you are still keeping an eye on the forum brother. Lemme know what spare stuff you have Gunny. I do have a lot though. cheers

You should have gotten the ones with the holes in the head for safety wire ;)

But besides that, lighter is always better

Very nice Brad. Love that flat profile of the bolts. Just need those gold wheels now.

Thought about that, but I do not race, just occasional track day and I keep a pretty close eye on the bolts all over the bike. I have had some marks on the bolts and they have not moved in nearly 4 years now so hopefully these new ones don't go jumping out overnight.

If I was racing I would get the others for sure.
