just curious if any pani riders also rock the Multistrada? and if so, what are your thoughts on having both bikes, which do you use more often, which bike for which situations, etc.? i own an old monster too, but i pretty much just wrench on it and it mostly stays in the garage.

i'm thinking of adding a multi for my daily commute, as the pani is a beast that wants to be unleashed all the time but doesn't love NY-area traffic. but would i ever use my 1199 again, other than a few track weekends...?

Love 'em both; one is wildly visceral, the other fast, comfy, and fun.

I've preferred riding the Pani of late, and that's saying a lot given my absolute love of the Multistrada bikes (1100s-1200s). I'm fortunate to have both, but if I were able to own only one, the Multi would be it. ;)

I was not a fan of the Multi. I'd heard (and still do hear) great things about it. But when Ducati Austin let me .... around on one while my bike was being serviced, I couldn't help but wish I was on my beloved Panigale. The upright riding position was uncomfortable, the weight transfer was weird and I felt like I was driving an RV. I'm jaded. The wider bars, though, increased confidence in the gritty stuff.

Give me the choice of a Van Conversion with wall to wall carpet or GT3 RS and I'll take the latter any and every day.

Just sod the Pani tricolore and brought a gt multistrada
Went to the nurburing last weekend fantastic bike
Does everything the Pani did apart from the top speed
Went with my pals on BMW rr and another pani does them both of the line pulls better out of the bends gets the power down better
More comfortable £10,000 cheaper
Much more fun
My Pals Pani needed to be topped up with oil after 400 miles lol
Developed an oil leek after 500 miles weeping from the head

My Pani broke down twice in 1000 miles engine let go the 3rd time so I gave it back
Over rated bike £26000 it came with the name spelt wrong PANGLE on the side
Flagship model LOL
When all you Pani owners sell up buy a multistrada you will smile everyday you ride it
Track or street riding it does it all

Troll much?

I'm sure this post is going to get a hell of a lot of love on the PANGLE forums. They probably shipped you the bike with PANGL written on it based on your own spelling ability. :D Seriously, you're from England where they invented the language you're destroying LOL.

He is from Essex which is not really England, more of a sub-level. You have to make the appropriate allowances for language and behaviour. :D

wayne is right ...

i have both and if you don't don't track your Pani, the Multi will do almost anything better..

2 up packed like a mule through the pissing rain and gales in the highlands? no problem
potter around town ? no problem..

scare the crap out of 848's an slower 1098 on the track? no problem...
put your Luggage back on and ride home? no problem..

it's the best bike i've ever had... i name her Hidalgo ...

Personally I'd go a streetfighter over the multi...

I'm buying the new water-cooled GS, grey, with wire wheels, cruise and all the farkles.
I'm pretty excited about it.
Multi was not even on the radar..

but that's (obviously) just me..

I had a Pikes Peak and before that a sport loved them both but not as versatile as it could be . I have just ordered a KTM 1190 R Adventure which I think will slot nicely I between the Multi an the BMW .
Getting back to original question was I rode the Multi more and most likely the same with the KTM but I really don ride sports bikes on the road anymore .

Had my multi gt for two weeks and already 2k miles.

No comparison between the pani and multi - multi is all round exc. bike for general usage, you can even haul groceries with it.

Pani's a blast but certainly not a practical bike, If I could only have one of the two it'd be a multi but that's because I don't have a car so it's my daily all round transport.
But then I've also got an SF too.

Pani's actually going away if/when the hyper sp gets to my dealer.

Being a P-car owner, I would as well. However, the Multi is the furthest from a van conversion, but it can play the role of most any sports car if you ask it to. ;)

wow, looks like i may get a multi. i can keep the pani prepped for the track it is too beautiful to sell. i switched up from an s1000r and i'll never find a more comfortable superbike -- from ducati, no less!

@zvez -- do you think the SF is just as good an all-rounder, so long as you stay on the road? or do you prefer your multi to that too?

@frosty -- i was really waiting for someone to tell me to ``use the search function.'' if it makes you feel any better, i also post about my 1199 on the DMF.

Don't overlook the older Multis as well. I've had both a 1200 and 1000DS and the older one was a total blast, easier to lane split on in the city, def did not have the top end rush of the 1200 but it was no slouch either and handled like it was on rails, such a fun bike.
