Your "˜risk intelligence' decides how much of a daredevil you are

Interesting article. I think it is a lot more complicated and don't agree with a lot of their findings. But then again I'm applying my own risk tolerance of different issues and coming up with a different answer. And I'm a believer that there are always exceptions. Maybe I'm one of them.

I'm considered a conservative person and people who know me through work are always surprised to find I once raced motorcycles and even at my age (64) I'm still more than a little bit of a speed freak. But on the other hand I'm very conservative and cautious when it comes to many other things such as investing, relationships etc.

Plus, we are ALL major takers as a result of being Ducati owners (unpredictable nature of these bikes proportional to the monies invested into owning and keeping them running).

More marxist psycho babble, for mindless parrots to ponder. This is the kind of .... that is pussifying America and the western world.
Anyone who engages in normal healthy manly behavior, is a "risk taker" and may be genetically pre disposed to this abhorrent behavior.
It's called having a pair of balls and red blood.

i'm the antithesis of neo-marxism and "progressive" libtard brainwashing du jour, and yet i know quite a bit about risky behavior firsthand and find the article quite on point. now granted, new scientist does have a libtard bent and their editorial staff believe in nonsense hoaxes like "climate change" but once in a while they hit on some legit scientific research and articles.

if you factor mortality rate per mile traveled on motorcycle and even, say, threads here with guys in wheelchairs with giant scars running along their spines it doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that many here have a skewed pre-frontal cortex (risk/reward) and impulse control issues.

and please note that i am not making any judgements on character, just simply some observations.

.... yeah a lot of spot on stuff, especially about smoking and one night stands. I call "load of ....".

This is turning into a very entertaining thread. My problem is that I think I'm normal except for some sort of mutant need-for-speed gene that accidentally got checked on the build sheet when I was born. You guys are making me wonder if I'm not as normal as I thought I was.
