Anyone ever experience gas coming out of the airbox? After a ride today I noticed gas dripping from underneath the bike. Pulled the fairings and as far as I can tell it's coming from the airbox. Could it be excess fuel when the bike primes itself during starting?
I opened my gas tank today just to examine the screws holding the gas cap and one is missing I'm wondering if it went in the gas tank and if so how much damage could it do?
Where did anyone get a quick release gas cap for the R model? I ordered one and found that the R model has 5 holes that secure the base to the tank, while the base and S have 4.
Thanks.
It is so hard to get 100% gas these days with all these ethanol crap... Anyone only find/use 100% gas? Notice any difference?
I am lucky to have a gas station near by that only sells 100% gas because he knows the loyalty he gets from drivers/riders that prefer non ethanol gas. Apparently...
Not scratches but some sort of paint issue in front of gas cap on top of tank.
Im thinking it has to do with overspray while filling up. The "spots" are many and seem to be under the clear coat. I cannot remove them.
I am checking out my options of a replacement gas cap. I may be in the minority of this issue but I don't like how small they made the hole for the gas pump nozzle. The 9xx and 1x98 caps were much larger and easier to keep from splashing fuel all over. And you could see the fuel level easier. So...
After a long wait, I finally received my Ducabike gas cap. As you can see, it comes with a modular CF key that you can perm attach or keep on your key chain. It came in different color combos, I just went all black.
Just been out on an 80 mile run in a couple of the passes east of Livermore, Ca and for some reason I decided to fill up at the gas station rather than me filling it up in my garage. I just find it easier to fill up from gas can than trying to hold the Ca vapor recovery nozzle open by hand to...
Ok, I tried search, no results. Was wondering how to remove the stock gas cap and install the DP quick release billet cap... any help would be appreciated.
Guys,
Has anyone discovered a simple way to remove the little Gas Tank label? I tried a spray that is suppose to loosen the sticker but unfortunately it comes off in tiny pieces. Very tedious & slow way of doing it. Any ideas?
If you are one of the lucky states with no ethanol gas stations, like Pa, U HAVE TO TRY IT IN UR 1199! I noticed a big difference on grunt and top end! Im not going to even try to prove it....you must try it for yourself.....its really that good!!!
After a ride in temps around 100 degrees Fahrenheit I pulled into my garage and let her cool down for a few minutes. I then opened the gas cap and wwwwoooooosssshhhhhhh. My hair literally got blown back and it caused me and a buddy to jump a bit as the sound was rather loud and unexpected...
As i was looking at the 1199 gas cap i noticed that it looked like it could potentially be identical to the older models such as 1198/1098/848, holes alignment looked pretty close to me. Can anyone confirm if it fits?
Manual says 17L (4.47 Gal) tank. 5L (1.32 Gal) remaining when low fuel warning light illuminates.
That leaves 12L (3.17 Gal) before the light.
Xbox mentioned poor economy on his in another thread here: http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/606-owners-manual-online.html
Maybe that is just...
