    Updates and recalls

Aloha everyone, I finally took my bike in for the ECU flash so while I was there I wanted to discuss a few issues noted on the forum. My local Ducati dealer here on the island appeared to be completely unaware of any recalls outside of the safety recall. I kindly pointed out my melting LWR...

Heat issues, addressed today by Ducati!

My dealer just called me today to let me know that Ducati has sent an email out addressing the heat and are preparing to send out update kits to address the issues on the 1199! Sounds like some new parts are on the way!

    heat shield update

Hello everybody, Don't know if this was posted before but I want to share just in case I popped up at the Dealer to have the rear axle protector installed. While the guy was working on my bike I had a chat with one of the salesman and I asked for the heat issue and whether Ducati is...

    Ilmberger heat shield

Has anyone fitted one yet? Any improvement in heat shielding? It's a significant investment but in theory should do a very good job.

Heat issues solved at last !!!

FIT THE COMFORT SEAT !! I've been riding Pani a week now and agree there is a fair amount of heat produced by this motor, although what I have found is that the discomfort this generates is exacerbated by the need to keep your knees clamped around the tank to stop your balls getting smashed...

    Ducati Panigale Heat Shield

Earlier on I posted info on a heat shield I had made for my Panigale, Pics were added, and it was my first design. I have now made one out of alloy and attached Zircotec 3 to the underside. Results here in southern Arizona have been very very good, I can now ride it all day far more comfortable...

Ducati Panigale Heat Shield That Works

I Posted previously about how to make the Ducati Panigale more ridable thru my design in cutting down the heat for the rider, many had asked for photos which I do HERE THEY ARE. Temps on the wrapped horseshoe pipe are 4 to 600+ degrees here in AZ above my guard using a laser heat gun they...

    Extra-Large Carbon Heat Shield

Guys, I came across this pic today. Has anyone see this X-Large Carbon Fiber Heat Shield over the back header? This looks like it would absolutley help lower the temps on the back of the legs. It would appear to block some rising heat and allow more air cirulation under the shield. Right...

    Heat Melting Rear Hugger

While cleaning my bike yesterday I noticed what initially looked like a wet spot or oil on the lower/fwd portion of my mud guard. Upon closer inspection, I could see the sheen was actually melted plastic, bubbles and all. I'll be posting pics later when I return from the dealer. I live and ride...

    Panigale heat

Hi all Panigale owners, Regarding the heat problem. I recommend buying a product from Zircotec which is a flexible ceramic stick on sheet which stops 77% of heat transfer. I did under my seat, made a panel also and stuck it on the underside of the seat rails just above the exhaust guard...

    Mine with heat treated exhuast

I had my Termi system coated by Zircotec before the bike was delivered in black ceramic, within minutes of stopping you can touch the pipe so it must help the heat although most of it seems to actually come from the rear cylinder. In addition the bike has the DP screen, Evotech tail tidy, GB...

    Heat issue, overblown

IMHO... I was really worried before purchasing the bike after reading all the comments about heat and skin burns etc. especially here in South Florida. Well after about 400 miles on some open roads and traffic in very hot weather and humidity I can say, it's no big deal. Feels less then my 1098...

    REmoving rear heat guard

So has anyone had to take the rear heat guard off (cover over the pipes below the seat? I was going to get some of that reflective foil and line it. Do you have to pull anything off to get it off? Looks like a couple bolts an o2 sensor but can't really tell if their's enough clearance...

    Rear Heat shield

I remember on an earlier thread someone mentioning you get a larger rear heat shield to fit the 70mm headers when you purchase the full Termi system. I've been looking on the net trying to find this part separate, even on the Ducati Australian site and I can't see it. Does anyone else know where...

    Comfort seat & heat

Guys I may be barking up the wrong tree but since I fitted the comfort seat the heat problem seems to be reduced. I think The seat seems to position my legs in a way that more air circulates, reducing the heat build up.

    Full Termi heat report: FWI...

Stock system in traffic routinely got up to 220-224 and the heat was bearable with Kevlar jeans. Full system in same traffic in same ambient temp of about 77 got up to 216 max yet the heat seemed to radiate further but was tolerable in any case and it's relatively easy to find a bit more...

    Termi Carbon heat shield

To all those that has the carbon heat shield installed, does it get in the way of the passenger footpegs? From pictures it does look a little bigger than the stock steel heat shields. Any feedbacks would be appreciated as i am interested in getting 1 but i dun wanna end up not being able to...

    Commuting heat

I know this has been talked about a bit but I was wondering what the current 1199 owners think of the heat since they have owned it for a while. I'm mainly worried about commuting, where I live it only gets upto about 28c in summer! That's about 84f. Cheers
