Lowered the rear, Dealer made house call.

I had dealer install sato Link, rode home, next day I had no clutch.I inspected reservoir and nada, zilch, completely dry. I called DucatiMiami, explained the situation and they sent a tech to my house( 30 min ride.) and bled clutch for me while I was working. My wife was home to let him in...

    I made a suspension datalogger

I just made a suspension datalogger from Arduino board, a couple of ultrasound distance sensor, three days of swearing, and a few bruised fingers. Read here for the prototype rest results: https://1199s.wordpress.com/2014/06/14/building-motorcycle-suspension-datalogger/ (too bad I...

How many R's were actually made and how many sent to Canada?

Just curious as to how exclusive the R is or isn't? Was it a limited run and if so what were the numbers and how many registered in Canada?

Made it to Valencia for the last round of MotoGP

Yesterday, I was up at 6am to avoid the crowds heading into Cheste for the final championship round of MotoGP. And I was up again at 6am this morning to board the high-speed rail line to Seville, which is where I write this. My flight touched down in Madrid on Wednesday. Going through customs...

1199R First Oil change made easy :)

First off I think it important to mention the amount of ''crap'' that was stuck on the magnetic drain plug = disgusting... It took a few minutes to get it clean, not sure the dealer would have taken the trouble. Now for the good news:) I had done some research on this forum and...

1st gen multistrada made into streetfighter

Kind of an interesting conversion. He started with an air cooled 1st gen multi 1100. Put on a pani tail and 1098 tank. Some other bits.

    Lightech rearsets made to fit

purchased a set of reverse shift, track system rear sets for my bike. Unfortunately, they do not fit as they should on the R model. The extra allen bolt that allows for swing arm pivot height does interfere. After waiting for a few months and being told a secondary retrofit kit is in the works...

He made the switch, Yami to Pani

My Hungarian bud who's got the most modded R1 from Europe I've laid eyes on ($12k in Italian upgrades from my quick glance, probably more like $16K) rode with me 3 times now and was so mesmerized by my Pani I took him to my dealer and hooked him up with a demo ride an the "S". Unfortunately...

So what made you smile today?

Whilst I am told it is wrong to do so; starting my bike for the first time in 6 months and letting it warm up. Too much snow to get out, but I needed to hear the reassuring noise of that engine turning over. No problem with starting, although some smoke and an light oily smell. Nothing that...

Heard rumor Ducati made improvements in latest production line.

I'm expecting my new 1199 to arrive any day now. I was told Ducati made changes to the latest production run which includes my soon to be delivered 1199. Is anyone privy to the improvements/corrections made in the latest production run?

    Home made tail tidy

Hi guys, As most of you i had my 1199 delivered with the utterly ugly stock tail thing (it's not even tidy). Then I received my DP tail tidy, much nicer but it still hide a part of the rear light which is a pity. i checked evotech, perfect parts, R&G but nothing seemed appealing to me, so time...

    1993 Monster 900 - 1st year made?

Even visited the factory in Bologna, Italy in 1995, hardly anybody at that time can visit the factory. Very interesting. Enjoyed riding that cycle around the Santa Monica mountains.

    Deposit was made in August!

I am currently overseas, but placed my deposit on the 1199 back in August. I am, as expected, pretty excited about picking up my ride as soon as possible! I currently ride a 2005 ST3, and think I'll keep that as a good second and a nice tourer for those weekends when my lady wants to come...
