Hey guys, I'm in the market for an 1199 and I've been somewhat perplexed at how flooded the market is with 2012 Pani's that are for sale with 400-600 miles on them, and even a few 2013. In my neighborhood there are two Duc dealers with a total of FIVE 2012 Pani's for sale all under 1000...

Was at the dealer not to long ago and was talking to techs. They were talking about the 15000 mile service and that if the intakes had to be shimmed that the motor had to be pulled and that the time to do the job would be like 30 hours labor. Anyone had any experience with this yet?

A friend of mine was headed out to test out his new tune on his zx10 @ the 1/4 mile strip and I decided to tag along. Took the GoPro along Im happy with the time I did but I think I can do better with more practice. I just did it for fun & knowing that this bikes not designed for 1/4 mile but...

Does a warning or reminder come up on the dash for the service? I am at 605 miles right now and don't see anything. I want to take it in for service, but I don't want to get it back....ride 10 miles...then see a service light pop up. SO I guess my question is if there is a service light...

We all know our bikes have this insanely expensive valve check job "requirement" every 15000 miles.... is this really necessary??? I mean if you could clear the Desmo Service indicator and just continue to ride... would this be injurious to the bike??? No doubt its recommended... but...

Be prepared to either 1) bend over at the 15k mark. The damage from Ducati Newport Beach was $1898. :eek: The entire bike has to be disassembled to get at the valves, requiring 16 hours of labor. The valves were all within spec, too....which is good, but also means the major service wasn't...

Taken my Duc onto the drag strip weeks ago. Made only 3 passes in nearly 5 hours because of a competition at the track. Did a respectable 10.52. Gotta go back this weekend probably and get it down to low 10's. Then I'll be happy. Anyone else have any times or videos they'd like to post?

I would like to make note that these 1/4 mile times are WAAAAYYYYY OFF... If these times are true, that means my 848 was faster than all the 1000's. Thats why I dont trust Motorcycle-USA's reviews or data. There is way too much false information in their magazines.

went yesterday, just to check it out, it's quite a rush standing at the start line, seeing the lights go down. was pretty cautious, relatively new bike. 1st run was vs. a sportster with slick and wheeliebar , didn't run to max. rpm. (might post the video later) second against a 2009 zx10r...
