Did some R's come with different heat shields...what's the word on that?

The heat shield that came with my Pani 2013 is just so damn ugly. What can I do about it? I want a CF one but is this wise? Does it replace the entire unit or is it a cover that goes over it? If one is recommended, where should I get it from? What have others done? Cheers

Maybe somebody else had this issue as well (I thought I read about it in this forum). If you have a CF or ceramic heat shield installed, it might happen that you loose one or even all mountings screw while riding. I guess this is basically due to mechanical movements caused by temperature...

:(I really don't like the heat shield that came stock on my 2013 1199R. Living in eastern Canada the temperature never gets warm enough to cause a heat issue. Would anyone have a link to a pre updated heat shield? In carbon fiber.

Anyone else have the new exhaust heats shield loosen up and the inner heat foil come loose? All bolts are tight, but the rubber mounts seemed to have "cooked". The inner foil is shifting around and coming out.

Has anyone tried to install the new carbonfiber heat shield for the Termi on a stock exhaust? I know they are slightly different and the Termi is wider...

Has everyone got that letter from Ducati regarding the heat shield/sprocket? I have not received anything as of yet. I was hoping to have that letter in hand before seeing my dealer regarding the sprocket change.

Tried a search. New to the Pani. Bike came with the rear cylinder heat shields on. I live in the country and only encounter a couple of stop signs before hitting the twisties so do not expect heat issues. And do want to see that engine! Please confirm all that has to be moved out of the way...

I am taking my full Termi system in for black ceramic coating and noticed the heat shield in my box of parts. I'm wondering what the effect would be on Ceramic coating that piece as well...given that it will also be covered by the new Carbon Fiber heat shield on my R. I can't imagine it...

So, I caved in and got the rear cylinder and exhaust loop heat shields installed as i did get small burns on my right thigh last summer on couple of occasions (and yes, i was not wearing shorts, lol ). There is definite improvement in the heat by the thighs and somewhat to a lesser extent...
