Ducat Superleggera V4
After the 1199 Superleggera and 1299 Superleggera, you can expect Ducati to release the limited edition Superleggera V4 when it says farewell to the Panigale V4 before making the next model update.

According to documents leaked in Europe about the new Ducati Superleggera V4:
  • Engine will be based around the 998cc V4 engine in the Panigale V4R
  • Superleggera V4 will make 221hp, compared to 217hp in the Panigale V4R
  • New Titanium Exhaust System meeting Euro5 standards, compared to Euro4 standards on the Panigale V4R
  • Weight will be 381 lbs (173 kg), ready to ride, minus fuel
    • Curb weight should be around 405 lbs, which is 20 lbs lighter than the Panigale V4R
  • Carbon Fiber BST Wheels
  • Ohlins Suspension and Brembo Brakes, same as Panigale V4R
  • More carbon fiber, titanium, magnesium, and aluminum
  • Fractionally extended wheelbase (compared to Panigale V4R) to add stability
  • Fractionally extended taller and wider dimensions
And not confirmed, but expected, is a carbon fiber monoposto single seat subframe.

I would expect to see the new Ducati Superleggera V4 introduced at World Ducati Week in July 2020.

Huh? When is this disclosed Superleggera spec-sheet expected to become a reality?

After-all the updated 2020 Pani V4 versions have only recently been announced, including V4 Streetfighter. V4 powertrain seems here to stay until we go Pani electric? :(

Or does “next model update” includes slight updates to the existing V4 engine as well? For example increasing the V4 build every 2 years step-by-step towards a 1299cc V4, like what DMH did with the Twin Pani? :)

I am confused on the HP claims... the V4R (non USA version) has 221HP as verified from this link from Ducati (Ducati Panigale V4 R | Pure Racing Adrenaline). Now in the USA, the bike is restricted for emissions to 209HP before the added Akra exhaust.

So i was wondering where this 217HP figure for the V4R above came from? after seeing this, i am under the assumption that the new SL will have the same power out (depending on the exhaust unlocking more) but will be 20 lbs lighter.

My local dealer (somewhere in Asia) is taking preorder now
Pre-tax is around US$122k.
But Ducati in here is more expensive than in the US, eg V4S pre-tax is around US$34500 and V4R pre-tax is around US$49000

My dealer called me with a price of $125-130k CDN

I’m tempted but the problem is that I’m very happy with my 1299SL and V4R which makes it hard to justify another silly priced bike

It’s been confirmed the new Superleggera V4 will be announced by Ducati this Thursday. Stay tuned.

Its an incredible thing, not a pretty as the 1299SL but who needs the same again!
And I must admit I went with no intention of buying agreeing with the above comments, till they pulled back the curtain!
