I just finished installing the ABM sport clip ons. They provide complete adjustability for height of bars, angle up/down and back/forth. Bars can be adjusted to be in factory position or how I have them currently, approx 3" higher and about 2" further back towards rider.

Installation requires removal of triple clamp and all of the bar controls as well as replacing the clutch and brake lines with longer lines (supplied). Installation is a fair bit of work. One of the issues I found was that the bars have smaller end holes than the factory bars. This is probably done to increase the strength of the bars, but results in not being able to use factory bar-end accessories. Therefore, I had the bar ends machined the same as the factory bars, so I could still use the lever protectors that I had previously.

The hardest part of the install was drilling the required holes in the bars. Once you have the angle of each bar adjusted to your liking, you have to drill holes into the bar for the control mounts. These have to be drilled in exactly the right position, which takes some templating. The throttle mount requires high precision, as one side of it requires a hole approximately the size of a needle.

These result in a much more relaxed riding position for touring, while still being able to put the bars down to the factory position by loosening a few bolts and sliding the mounting collars down. It also allows you to get just the right "feel" out of the bar position. I haven't really got any time on them yet, but have been really happy so far with the adjustability.

Also, those who haven't upgraded to the progrip 717's, do so! Amazing improvement in grip feel!

Enjoy the pics!

I've been looking at this set as well. Thanks for the info and pics. Drilling the holes is something I hadn't thought of and is something to consider in my decision making
process.

The holes aren't a big deal but definitely a measure twice, drill once situation.

For me, I wrapped a sheet of paper around the stock bars and punched a hole in the paper at every bar hole location. Then transferred the paper to the new bars and used it as a template to mark the hole locations on the bars.

An auto punch and a drill press are highly recommended for this part of the process.

With the clips ons moved up, does the position cause the reservoirs to hit the windscreen? I know the Rizoma's are right at the edge of hitting so just asking to see how it looks with stock reservoirs.

I'll take pictures when I get the fairings on in the next day or two and post up. The kit comes with fairing spacers that go under the mirrors that move the fairing up a bit to create proper clearance.

Finished putting the front fairing on. This kit definitely won't be for everyone as it causes a gap between the windscreen and the magnesium frame. I dont think it looks bad, just not as finished as the factory fit.

In the pics you can see the spacer and the gaps it causes. Handlebar/reservoir to fairing clearance is good.

In what regard? It supposedly goes into the dealer tomorrow for its 650mile first service. We will see if that happens with all the covid stuff going on.

I've done a 300mile trip on the bike and between the gel seat and the bars, it was very comfortable. Most comfortable sportbike I have ever toured on.

Takes a bit to get used to the bars. From what I can see in pics probably 1/2 way between a stock v4 and the streetfighter v4. It just feels so weird to be on a full sport bike in a more relaxed position.

I would say they are worth it, if anything for the adjustability. Lever angle, handlebar angle and height can all be set to what is comfortable for you.

I'm really liking the feel of the shorter CRG levers as well. I was able to set my clutch engagement point to exactly where I like it.

Powder coated my rearsets in preparation for my black jesters exhaust. I really like how stealthy they are now. The rearsets completely disappear for a clean look.

Excellent timing for the thread, I have the sama kit bought, but install will be next weekend. Thank you for the pictures and tips!

Couple questions:
- What downwward angle setting you used in the bar? (The scale from 8 to 0 to 8 in the part where the bar slides into)
- I guess you didn’t use the bar extension pieces (the bar end pieces)?
- You seem to have English manual. Mine came only with German language manual. Would you mind posting pictures of the manual pages?
- If I’m not mistaken, you seem to have the taller windscreen installed. How does it work with fairing also being lifted with the supplied spacers (wind protection and where the turbulent air hits?, chest vs helmet?).

1. I am running mine in the 2 position downward. make sure to test it and get it where you want it before you drill the holes for the switchgear and levers.
2. They say you should use the bar extensions, but without the bar extensions they are exactly the same length as the stock bars, so I don't see why you would want to use them which would change your switchgear positioning. Also, I wanted to use aftermarket bar-end lever protectors. Those would not work with the bar end extensions. I had to machine the bar ends to get them to work with factory bar end accessories.
3. I have two English manuals one in PDF they sent me ahead of time and one that came in the kit. They are both slightly different. pm me your email addy and I will send you both.
4. Yes, the taller windscreen still works great. I was worried that the gaps on the sides caused by raising the windscreen might affect wind protection, but there are no issues with turbulent air or where the air hits.

Hey thanks for all the info. Im almost about to purchase V4 and my issue is the handlebars being so narrow and low and being 53 old and useless. Ive not been on sports bike for 2-3 years (ie old bike was 899).

CAN YOU DEFINE COMFORT? even though we all different I know. Is it chalk and cheese more comfortable? and does the additonal bar width feel way better? really i should just get a Supersport S. but i would love 1 more panigale again before i get too too old :)

Looking to purchase the abm kit. Could someone chime in as to where they got theirs from. So far I have only seen companies in England and Germany.

These bars are not low and not narrow. In fact, how I have them set up right now feel a bit too wide. The nice thing is you can imitate stock bar position or anything in between. I will put it to you this way. I was buying a new V4S more as a toy and a new 1290GT for touring. I'm happy enough with the V4S that I am going to do my trips this year on it and get the KTM next year when they release the updated frame/model. So, it will see at least one 1 week 4000+km trip (assuming this craziness allows for it before winter) and I'm not worried. However, that said, with stock bar position I did a 3hr straight (stop for gas once) trip and thought it was one of the more comfortable sportbikes I have owned and wasn't too bothered by it. I'm 6'2" 195lbs, not sure how much size plays into the comfort. I'm in decent shape and have always had a sportbike in the stable.

Here are mine installed. Big thanks to @ArcticWhite for helping with the English manual.

The ABM clip-ons make significant difference, but of course its still just bit comfier superbike. Ducti Supersport is still more relaxed, but I would not even want the Pani V4 to be any more relaxed than what ABM clip-ons make it. To me, together with Attack Performance rearsets and 20 mm higher seat the driving position is about perfect for street, and can be adjusted even more agressive than stock for track. With ABM kit you can make the clip-ons plenty wide, I did not install even the width expanders.

My 2019 base V4 is ’do it all bike’ for me. The only bike that I have, and I do tracks days, street riding, commuting and touring with it. Bought the bike July 19, and I have done about 9000 km / 5600 miles on it so far. Loving every meter!
