V4 oil leak

Yes, my issue was resolved and I have zero problems now. Not a drop of oil.

Definitely order a Ducati part. Ducati of Omaha is a great website. They can get you the part in 1-2 weeks (that's been my experience). The only problem is that they list 3 different parts in their online store for this... I would probably recommend buying all 3 then return the other two. Or email them to find out why they have 3 parts listed. 231A may be the upgraded replacement seal against the original 221A part number. Ducati's parts catalog doesn't reflect the part number change and the price seems too low, so that's just a guess. The dealership told me there was a spacer behind the Seal that wasn't installed properly from the factory. They removed the spacer and reinstalled a new one. I don't see any such spacer in the parts diagram, so I'm not sure about that. If you remove the seal and and you see a spacer there, just make sure it's properly seated. Also, note that this is covered under the warranty and you should be able to get this fixed for free.

93042221A - SEAL RING
Regular price: $17.10

93042231A - SEAL RING
Regular price: $9.11

93040221A - SEAL, OIL 35X52X7
Regular price: $32.08

a part revision goes from part numbers letter moving further down the alphabet, the actual numbers won’t change for a revision.for example original part number may be 93512AA and the first revision would be 93512AB, then 93512AC and so on and so forth.

I still have not replaced mine, my local dealership is closed so no service. It only leaks a little, I just wipe off every after ride for now.

I can't decide if I should order the OEM one. Should I go for the 93042221A part number?

A buddy of mine had his replaced with a seal that has the same dimensions, bought from a local store that sells seals. So it's like a generic one, but he had no leaks after this.

Anyone else having this same issue? Any ill effects this may cause? I wonder if this is a common issue with the v4.
I believe it drips down to this certain sensor below the front sprocket, not sure if oil will ruin it. I googled the sensor and it is oil resistant though!

I just had mine replaced. They just replaced the seal and cleaned the surrounding part.

Problem is, now it is leaking more! Tech said it might be the oring that needs replacement. Is there an o-ring behind the seal?

I am going to try to tell them what was done on your bike. Btw, how's yours so far? I just want mine fixed or at least be a manageable leak. My leak creeps down all the way to the oil drain plug, like the photo you showed.

Has anyone else experienced an oil leak coming from the chain side of the engine... behind the black plastic cover and up. It is also running down on the rear header aswell?

Also. My front brake went soft... I dont track... and I dont think I ride too hard on the streets. Is they any recalls for the front brakes out right now?

Yes the same happens to me last week I was riding and I saw oil on the left side under that plastic cover I was so angry I have under 6000km only so in a two weeks I have appointment to Ducati …. And now I see that soft front break is the problem I thought that I’m just wrong but when I buy that bike new one breaks works perfectly now after two servis they are soft and I do not like that… I’ll tell them about that too…. Anyone what to expect?????
