Which accessories do you guys have on order or considering?

I'm going with CF undertail exhause sheild and hugger, wont get the heel guards cuz i'll probably get adjustable rear sets anyway. Reverse Shift kit is a must for me. And i'm thinking the alarm but, i'd like to do some research on it first.

How about yall?

I've ordered the following as an initial hit:

- Carbon front mudguard to disguise my base and hide the shame of not owning an S model:eek::eek:

- Carbon rear shock cover to bling up the suspension, as otherwise the shame of a manually adjustable Sachs shock will tear at the fabric of my soul every time I look at the bike :eek:

- 1199 Cover. Yup, you guessed it, to hide the poverty spec base model, saving me from the shame and scorn of onlookers :eek:

- Rear paddock stand, to stand the bike up, so I can more easily perform the shame relieving mods necessary on every base model :eek:

- Termi cans, obviously didn't order the full system, remember, I chose a base model, so always need that aspirational target :eek:

- Clear tank pad, so I don't damage the paint. Need to get max 2nd hand value, when it comes time to trade up to a proper Panigale :eek:

Gosh, I enjoyed that :D

Ive ordered the Tricolore with:

Manifolds
Carbon rear hugger
Carbon rear shock guard
Carbon clutch cover
Carbon sprocket cover
Extended screen
Racing seat
carbon tank protector

then i just have to sort the tail tidy, Indicators as i will be taking the mirrors off and rearsets once some come out other than the Ducati ones.

No shame at all in the base 1199 Xbox ;)

I have a 1199s on order with:

Full Termi System
Carbon rear hugger
Carbon rear shock guard
Carbon swing-arm protector
Extended screen
Racing seat
Ducati carbon/alloy tail-tidy
A new wife - figure this one may leave me when she finds out what I spent :)

YEAH Xbox, no shame here...I've had three 999 and an 1198 I bought last June, all have been the std model.

My last '06 999 had over 15K in upgrades and probable out perform the S or R when I was done.

I want to see what the base model is all about and slowly build a better bike, my own bike. The only thing I think i'd miss is the electronic suspention.

I'v never been one to collect bikes, so i'm sure by '13 or '14 when they've worked out all the kinks i'll be ready to get a new one then too ;-)

To me, the carbon bits that don't serve a purpose are a lot like chrome on a H-D. That being said I got the rear hugger and # plate. Reason being I'd like the rear to tie in since I got the Termi full system which forces on the carbon heat shield. I will wear my red mud guard loud and proud to show my support to us lesser base models. And hey, our suspension may not be as good but it looks a hell of a lot better!

i make carbon fiber parts for a living, i've already got clearance to make moulds for any part i want. fairings are the first on my list.
the upgrades i will be buying will be a full termi race pipe, a race seat and a screen.

No worries, but I'm 100% happy with my choice, otherwise I'd simply swap, as both models are available for me.

I would be interested in different wheels:)

Let's see what the Superstock teams use!

Just the essentials to start with in my S:

1. Tank pad
2. Number plate holder - assuming its a lot smaller than the standard one.
3. Larger screen

I'm not that into carbon fibre bling. Call it sacrilege, but I'd happily spray my carbon front mud guard red. If cf serves a purpose, weight reduction, heat protection, etc. then I'm fine with it, but not for cosmetic reasons - personally I think bare carbon fiber doesn't look all that nice.

Termi's would be nice, but I can't justify this much on a slip-on. I'll wait and see what the after market brings. Full Ti system would be nice.

Some would include a full system as essentials ;)

Here is a thread on the Termi value, with a little talk about a Akrapovic Ti system.

Essential if I wanted to be divorced :( I don't need the Panigale, I just happen to really, really, want it. I have to draw the line somewhere and £18k is enough to feed my obsession. I bought the S because i think it offers the best balance of price/performance. For the £2k that the termi's cost I can do every level of California Superbike School twice. Which do you think will make me quicker?

Exhaust next year when I've learn't the bike, there are more options and most important I can seek forgiveness with some prospect of success ;)

Oh, and I forgot crash protection. Not the carbon case covers, but real crash bungs. I dread to think what a trip through the kitty litter or a lowside will cost without these. Anyone seen any for sale yet?

I hear you PaddockStand, we all must know the limits of justification our spouses will accept.

I agree, any training, be it CSS, a race school or even track day instruction, will help you go faster while being safer, which is always money well spent.

I seems that the full Termi system exhaust is a bit different from the Termi cans only. The Termi cans seems to have a kind of plate to go flush with the lower fairing and the full system doesn't show it. Then you will see the ugly little pipes and some attaching points that are useless. Look at the photo of the Superstock bikes on Phillip Island.

Anyone can shine a light on that?

I'd be happy for every part to be carbon, as it looks better to me, but mainly because it is generally lighter for the same strength.

I do laugh when I see people put carbon over another part, thus adding weight and size simple to have the look of carbon. Defeats the entire purpose of having carbon in the first place to me.

It seems that you could easily spend another thousand or two just replacing parts with the carbon.
I really wish the Tricolore came with all the carbon bits standard, even if they raised the price a little more.
I'm sure they don't so they can make even more money.

You can see the brackets to support the plates but they don't serve a purpose to go fast around the track. That's one reason I went with the Termi's, most likely all the other options that will come out won't flow as cleanly with the lines of the bike. They'll build headers then stick two of their pipes on the end of it out of a parts bin.

Me and my Panigale are already scheduled for the CSS level 1 and 2 at Barber in June.

After grounding the bike, I rather repalce a $250 CF clutch cover than the $ ???? magnesium part itself.
Same with the generator cover & swingarm.

Works only with sufficient thickness, not just cosmetic covers.

Best,

Phil
