All, I currently own a 2020 Base V4 and have been considering buying a new 2023/2024 V4 or V4S. I bought the 2020 used and am coming up on 10K miles so I'm wanting to upgrade to new. Looking at possibly getting back into track riding and was considering the S for the suspension and the LED headlight (I sometimes commute with the bike and when I do I drive in when its dark and drive home when its dark) and man that LED headlight is heaven compared to the JUNK halogen one. Money isnt really a problem as the base and S are only about 5k apart OTD, but I figure for that 5k I could put full ohlins suspension and steering damper and be even better off than the electronic suspension on the S. Thoughts? I just got into the V4 family recently with the 2020 I bought and I'm just getting back into riding after having taken about 5 years off. Now, I know usually people would talk about the Marchesinis on the S, but I own a pair of DP Forged Magnesium's that will go on the new bike either way so this isn't an advantage to buying the S as I'd just be selling those wheels anyway. Wheels aside, suspension aside I see no point of me going with the S. Do you?

Second, will the 2023 fit the full akra from my 2020? I know there's a ton of geometry and electronics changes and I believe there shouldn't be an issue with fitment but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm? I will also need to find a fueling solution since the upmap is tied to my 2020 and I imagine there's no way for me to transfer that to the 2023.

Lastly, aside from different graphics on the 2020 to 2023, are the fairings and fuel tank the same when it comes to mounting them?

Wheels, fairings, and fuel tank, can all be swapped across.

If you don't see an advantage to electronically adjustable suspension, then no benefits of the S.

Exhaust, I haven't tried, but would think so.

Map, won't port across. Either get a custom dyno map, or 'canned' tune from someone reputable.

and again......... physically the 2020 Akra will bolt on to the the 23 bike. but there are only 2 O2 ports on the 2020 system and if you are fitting a Akra system in its std Ducati format to the 23 it needs 4. However, as you are potentially fitting an older non dealer bought system to a later bike you won't get the dealer added mapping upgrade that would come with a new purchase.

this is not the end of the world as the route would be

fit the earlier Akra system to the later bike.
plug the two O2 ports on it and seal the connectors on the bikes loom as there is live power to them all that can earth out and cause a life of misery.
get a custom map from someone.

in my humble experience I have found issues with the like of woolich I don't think they understand the 22+ bikes completely...yet?
I would go down the route of speaking to Deussen engines on here.

Thank you. I swear the search feature on all forums sucks. I searched to see if this fitment question was already posted here and I got nothing. Then as soon as I post this on the bottom of my page it’s showing me another thread titles similar to mine. Can’t make this stuff up!

A friend of mine had a ‘19 V4R low Akra fitted in the ’22 V4S, and the chain was very close to scratch the LH silencer, compared to the R, but it could have been due to the geometry difference.
Just my 2 cents
