Anyone have any indication if the new wheelbarrow style Akra (96482001A) for the ‘22s will fit the ‘20? Catalog only mentions the 22 but it’s often wrong for accessories.

Ive got an email in to Ducati but they’re often slow to respond and was hoping someone here might know. Doesn’t seem to me the ‘22s are that different that it shouldn’t fit.

I'd think so. The systems look identical up to the mid-pipes. On the old system, the cans would attach. On the new, its a Y section that branches out for the two cans under the tail. I'd go so far as to say I'd bet if you could find a p/n and order this part, you could turn the old system into an undertail. Hopefully the aftermarket embraces that.

I hope you’re right. This would allow me to use a full system at my local track that requires static noise < 102 dB.

It’s a track in Norway called Rudskogen. Are you familiar with it? :D

I wish. LOL. I asked because every track photo I see outside of the US it looks like guys ride to the track and do some laps. Here, mirrors and lights have to be taped, all that nonsense.

Gotcha! It heavily depends which organizer one rides with. Some are for track only bikes, others for road bikes and some allow both. There are pros and cons to both, but for me insurance is a must with this bike, and so I stick with the road legal only organizers.

I understand about the insurance thing. With as expensive as these things are at a minimum I’d like to make sure the bike is covered. I’m not looking to race even at a club level but something to cover it for track days.

So according to WRS.IT this exhaust is not backwards compatible. Not sure if it’s just the upmap that comes with it that makes it so, or if they changed something 21 to 22 with the mounting points or the header flange or something.

Just as well probably…saves me agonizing over whether or not I should do something stupid like spend that kind of dough on that exhaust or not.

Unforunately, aside of the spark WSB exhaust, I find it miles more visually pleasing than any other options.

There are other tuning options if it’s just the map that isn’t compatible. I will be looking into this.

IDK...

I mean, "not compatible" doesn't give a lot of information. It could very well be something as simple as a bracket change. The mapping doesn't come with the exhaust, so I don't think that would be it.

Looking at the old and the new side by side, I really struggle to see a difference forward of the end cans. Of course there could be subtle differences to header flanges for instance, but they do appear identical to me.

looks like the map comes with the exhaust

I think by "supplied" its the same as the older bikes. You buy the exhaust, it is installed, the dealer registers the exhaust to your VIN, then the dealer downloads the map and adds it to the bike.

Agreed, which is the reason why I think/hope it is listed as 2022 model only.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that it fits physically and it’s just the upmap thatdoesn’t work with older models

If there was a suspension geometry change its very well possible the mount point could have moved, but the mounts on the exhaust look the same, so that would have likely been solved with a bracket change. There may be some fab work to get it mounted, but if you're buying a $7.5k exhaust and planning to fit it to a bike which it isn't spec'd for, I don't think that would stop you.

I don’t like it for $7.5k, but would jump on it @ &5k

FYI…4Evo claims it will physically fit all years.

and they have 1 in stock

just don't know if I can stomach it

One bizarre choice is that the finish of the carbon fiber heat shield isn't Ducati's typical matte but flat. If someone is committed to paying $7.5k for it I doubt that would sway them though.
