That’s not accurate. The TEXA scanner is state of the art and interfaces with all the DUC models in fact TEXA makes Ducati’s DDA. The TEXA unit is around 3K and gives you everything Ducati has plus some additional diag features

Where do you get this ?

Oh ok. So not a T800+ Upmap map? If you’ve got the stick, it seems you could re-install it if needed, no?

Not true people have been saying here that once it’s gone, it’s gone can’t re use your upmap stick to reload the upmap because it thinks it’s still loaded though won’t show evo or evo racing.

not sure on the t800 upmap and reloading.

I lost the Racing Evo before I even try to reset something. I plugged the stick (black one in a box) but after 10 sec it says "Download aborted" Any idea?

Both OBD have FT232RL Chip PIC18F25K80 controller…..both don’t work.

One from Lonelec the other from OBD Australia.

I have the same issue as you. After reading through the forum It's looking like not all the ELM327 pic chips have the same firmware loaded and is the cause of the lack of correct data coming back to the MelcoDiag Application. Mine will see the ELM327 device ok. I see RX and TX leds flashing away. I here the fuel pump initialize. But no valid data coming back. Also randomly reset both Service intervals but no valid data received. I also purchased the ELM327 v1.5 from OBD Australia . I have a in circuit pic programmer. If I was able to get hold of the correct Hex file for this chip I could re flash it with the correct program and probably work fine. I guess we will just have to keep buying different ones until we get one that works ok... Have you had any success?

Looking for some current information to help me get started with Melcodiag and my 2012 Ducati 1199S. I've got a Lonelec 16-pin standard OBD2 interface--I used it on my last 2008 Ducati 1098. But I need the other cable to connect it to the bike---the new bikes I understand need the 4-pin ELM327 Ducati connector setup.

All the links in this old thread have expired--can anybody provide updated current links that will point me to a good source for the Ducati/bike-side cable? I sent a web inquiry to Lonelec a few days go to ask if my current Lonelec OBD2 cable is compatible with the Panigale range--I'm betting it is--It's simply a male OBD2 connector on one side and a male USB-A connector on the other, to plug into my laptop.

What I need is the OTHER cable--with al the right particular chips/specs/yada yada--! Looks like all the Lonelec Ducati kits are sold out--so I need another vendor. Plus--if my current Lonelec OBD2 cable is good, I only need the one other ELM327 cable.

I do have a wireless WIFI ELM327 OBD2 adaptor I use with my BMW X5 but that has no 4-pin connector to attach to the Panigale, so it's of no use.

I'm only wanting to re-set maintenance and oil-change reminders--can I do this without losing my T800+ race upmap? I've got full race exhaust and the matching race map.

Please advise and THANK YOU!

Greg

Hi Greg;

I scanned for codes (there were none) on my 2012 1199s but I never recoded anything. I did not lose the Racing EVO program notification just by scanning.
I bought my cable from Melco since none of my other cables were working. I have an oil change coming up this winter while my bike it in storage and the snow is flying so I'll be doing the oil change interval reset. Please report back your results if you get there before I do.
Thanks,

Bump----anybody who can offer advice re: my above text? Would be most appreciated!

Hey mate I’m in Australia and bought my cables from obd2australia. I’ve done multiple DTC resets on my 1299 track without any issues

Thank you Graydon and Dark---I'm in the US so not sure how practical it is to order from "down under" but I'll surely explore it!

And glad to hear your race map was not lost when scanning--I'm needing to reset oil change--surely that wouldn't flush an installed map!

Guess I'll find out soon enough--I do still have the UpMap T800+ stick--perhaps I can load the map back onto the stick before I commence using the iPhone app.

I ALSO have the Ducati race map on a stick that came with my Termignoni race headers--so worst case I can just load that one. :)

Greg

No problem Greg , even if you order from somewhere else they are the cables you need, just make sure the elm327 you get has that specific chip in it 👍
