Help Support Ducati Forum:

I got it from aliexpress. I asked the seller fro the chip and he confirmed. The only difference with the picture u showed it that mine is V1.5 and in the picture is V1.5a
 
Not sure why but I can't reset the key code using melcodiag, I know the code but was expecting it to reset like it says it will do.
It just makes a noise then about 30 seconds to 1min later makes another noise.

Also my bike came with two keys but no key code (cutting code) to cut new keys if I lose one, can I ask a ducati store for it ?

thats makes no sense a key code will mean your key is cut perfectly rather a duplicate of a worn key.

Those number relate to the pattern on the key itself, not the code within. A new key can be cut based on the pattern code with out an original to copy.

Turns out maybe a license issue with melcodiag and not resetting as you have to right click and choose unblock lic since it came from another pc.

Thanks for quick reply. Contacted JP and was told that the COM port will appear when the ELM327 is plugged into computer. Hope that helps someone else with the same question. Can you look at the following link from Ebay. The ELM327 with the FT232RL v1.4 is hard to find. Does it have to have that additional PIC18F25K80 chip? The link has one with both chips in V1.5. Hoping it will work?

Im getting the same error main ecu, bbs ecu, dashboard ecu not detected, I keep telling jp on the forum its a license issue as they will be detected if you have a license but he won't send a new lic file.

Ive done get a new license three times still nothing.

Wants 100 Euro for his pro unlicensed version.
 
Have you ever had the diag connected up and working since you got the elm and cable? Sounds to me which is always common the ELM is not communicating or your DDA cable is not correct.

I use V1.5. This is the one I bought a week ago, works great after finding the right drivers.

Basically the melcodiag programmer wants nothing to do to help.

Tried different cables still same issue.
Still can’t pick up ecu, bbs or dashboard.

key lock won’t reset yet says it’s not supported on panigales yet when you read old posts it should work.
 
I have a 2012 panigale 1199 with Mitsubishi ecu. I have the elm 1.5 with HS-MS toggle and a elm 1.4. I pinged out my mni OBDII connector to check it was the right pin out . i cleaned my bikes cable and made sure i had continuity. My computer sees the ELM (both) as a serial com port no problem. I have downloaded literally a DOZEN different drivers for the different chip sets on the ELM.

Im at a loss, I've posted to the forum on JP's site, and emailed him. He gave me a new license but it still is not working and has since stopped responding.

JPDiag :: No ECU DETECTED Here is my post there with my outputs.

Notice at the bottom it says "registered" This supposedly means the license IS working.
 
I have not talked to JP in a long time so pretty sure he got tired of getting way too many people emailing him with simple issues. If you have the right DDA cable, ELM, Windows thats not 20 years and a ecu license Melco simply works.

If your not getting all the vin# and bike info on the home screen then your cable is wrong or the ELM is not compatible which is 99% of the issues people have.

I can totally appreciate that about JP. My frustration is not meant to be directed at him.

I would suspect you are right in “If you have the right DDA cable, ELM, Windows thats not 20 years and a ecu license Melco simply works”

I have ruled out my DDA cable and tested it with a multimeter. I’m using a 2 year old dell with windows 10 and JP swears the license is working

that leaves the ELM
