Yes. Russia can’t even win the war in Ukraine despite having a huge advantage. Russia barely has enough matériels and personnel to fight this war. Europe would steamroll Russia if it came to a conventional war. The only thing Russia has to fallback on its nuclear arsenal
WW3 is not breaking out. Yes the EU can handle Russia, it’s just they don’t have any reason to because they know the US will step in and foot the bill. Russia only has the GDP or France, so Russia is not really a problem, it’s just about handling Putin like the psychopath he is. Keep him worn down, make him go 15 rounds, let him see that global expansion is not really an option. With just a few thousand stinger misses sent from the west, or whatever they are, he has lost a frightening amount of his air power. He just can’t take on everyone. No one is Europe is going to let Putin move west, so they just have to pacify him gently and keep nukes out of the scenario.

Build up their war machine and be willing to use it. Right now I don't think the EU has the guts to use it no matter how big it is.
And there's a big part of the problem. Complacency has lead to weakness, which only encourages someone like Putin. It's sad that Trump is doing everything possible to weaken Ukraine, perhaps in the mistaken belief that Russia can be an ally, financially or otherwise, under Putin's rule. He's also weakening the Western alliance (which could accidentally result in a stronger European alliance, which he would no doubt take credit for as part of his best plan the world's ever seen) and insulting his allies along the way (along with Vance and his apparent lack of awareness - or gratitude - for the support that other countries have given in various US shenanigans).
You fail to understand the reason for the EU, its not a country its a structure that has effectively neutered member states so that they stop killing each other. It has made a successful effort so far to curb nationalism, fascism, monarchism, imperialism etc that kept it in an almost constant state of war for a thousand years. That is why the EU is so hellbent on keeping the war going with Russia, because once the music stops the EU its toast.
