ok I'll make it easy and answer

The purpose of war is to destroy the enemies army- end of story. Not to gain territory, assets or resources. Those are political aims and war is an extension of politics in that you want the other side to bend to your will/political demands. But on the ground the fighting has one purpose only which as stated is to atrit the enemies forces. Everything else is noise
Yes, that’s fine. The fighting does take place on the battlefield, but the politicians make the decisions and decide to use the vehicle/apparatus/mechanism of war to either steal other people’s resources/land/women or to protect from someone else taking theirs. I don’t disagree with you but don’t think you are looking at the whole picture.

So when the US flew over to asia and went to war against the Afghans the US wanted to steal their .... and make them slaves.... ok sounds about right
Yes but consider this. The US was the only empire to wage war in Afghanistan and not be financially crippled by it in the end. Alexander looked and said too hard and married a mountain princess to form an alliance. The real problem is we should had went into Pakistan instead and disarmed them. No one has ever successfully conquered an indigenous people in mountainous terrain. In the bible never a lost battle until Saul came down onto the plains. Just stupid us going to Afghanistan. We did go to Iraq to steal their oil. As if putting in a puppet government to steal Iran's worked out so well. Take a look at who now holds the oil leases under Iraq.

I am cutting through the noise, unless the US has the ability to conduct an air, sea and ground war against China, Russia or Iran that destroys their armies, it will lose and lose badly. Too many hollywood movies, too much masturbating over super weapons and tech that does not exist and a deindustrialised country that will take a generation or more to rebuild- the US is not going to go to war against a peer adversary now or probably ever. To win a war you need to destroy the enemy, and forget nukes unless you want to see 80% of the population wiped out in one horrifying murder suicide pact. Nukes go both ways and subs are virtually unstoppable.

The hard part of war is logistics, the end game, and what to do afterward. Lately, wars haven’t “ended” rather they’ve been left smoldering and then abandoned with no plan to rebuild the country. Vietnam was a .... show. Lebanon is still a .... show. Obama ended the Bush 1/2’s Iraq war and it was still a mess. Trump left Bush 2’s Afghanistan debacle in shambles. The common denominator is that all these wars were pretty much unjust

I knew she looked familiar. Your wife is beautiful, almost as beautiful as beautiful (my wife) who is 69, half Apache and currently driving me crazy as she's fronting 2 bands (she retired years ago, this is a hobby thing). Do you have a Tesi?
Yes, I have a Tesi 2. Bimota original built the Tesi 1 and 2. They currently only build the Tesi 3 with the Kawasaki turbo charged engine. Bimota sold the rights for the Tesi 2 to Vyrus, which is what I have. All Vyrus are custom built to order. Most have a Ducati engine. They also offer it with the Honda 600cc MotoGP 2 engine. Vyrus will build them with whatever you want. Mine has a NCR 1200cc big bore high compression race motor. Titanium crank, rods, valves, ect, ect. It has 128hp, and weighs 130kg (286lb). It’s the only one they made with a NCR motor. I like it because it’s air cooled, which saves a lot of weight, and it’s simple. It handles better than any conventional bike; it’s no contest. It has carbon brake rotors with Brembo billet calipers and Brembo billet master cylinders. Ohlins TTX shocks. The bodywork is carbon fiber. Every nut and bolt is titanium.
For once in your life, after you’ve owned all sorts of cool motorcycles, this is that one unique motorcycle. Price no object, built exactly the way you want it. It took almost 2 years to build. The mechanic who built it works for Ducati SBK team. He works for Vyrus in the off season. When it’s done, you pick it up at the factory in Rimini. The factory experience is another trip. It’s near San Marino tucked away where you would never just stumble on it. Hanging out there is like this secret place where you wouldn’t believe who’ll you’ll find there. The Vyrus also includes a couple of track days at Misano to break it in and get the hang of it. Sadly, I’m old and slow. The Super Corsa’s have huge chicken strips. It’s very embarrassing. When people see it on Ducati Island they post pictures of the tires. You would think they would have something better to do. I’ve started letting a buddy take it out and scrub the tires. I know, it’s pretty pathetic.

the US basically crippled itself economically with the over 2 trillion dollars spent on Afghanistan. Many dead Americans, hundreds of thousands of dead Afghans (NOT Taliban either. just normal people) and total humiliation when leaving. it was a TOTAL FAILURE, and didn't accomplish anything except to get people killed and waste money. Stupid stupid stupid George Bush and Barak Obama. It's not the money that is important, although it's a huge hit on the US Economy...it's the stupidity of the entire fruitless episode. trying to bomb people back to the stone age, when they are already there. is the ultimate political insanity.

the US LOST in Afghanistan. just like Viet Nam. Stupid stupid stupid.

Very cool. If your friends not available to scrub those tires, I'll ride down and do it for you. Alway wondered how a Tesi really works like. Didn't realize anyone still built them. We're in Italy next year (hopefully) and we're thinking about going to the San Marino GP so I'll check them out if I can.

You expected between two of the three most militant Nations in the EU theatre? A better recipe for WW3 I cannot imagine.

The Rimini/ San Marino area is ground zero for all kinds of cool motorcycle stuff that you never knew existed. Moto Corse has a retail store in San Marino that has the limited edition parts that typically only MotoGP and SBK teams have access to. I’ve seen them have Brembo race parts that aren’t on any website. They have cabinets full of weird titanium parts that you never dreamed were available. You can send all day in that one store and still not see everything. Just driving around and you’ll see exotic motorcycle stuff everywhere. CRC is in San Marino. That’s where all of the MV Agusta special versions are made. They’ll give you a tour. Bimota is also there. World Ducati Week is really cool and well worth its own visit. But there’s so many motorcycles that the locals are overwhelmed. In order to see the little shops where you find the really special stuff, you need to go when there’s not a big event. I wish the Rimini airport still had scheduled service. Now you have to fly into Malian or Rome and take the train. You can rent a bike once you’re in Rimini. Or you can rent a car in Malian and drive. I’ve done it both ways. I like driving and riding in Italy. There’s so much to see. But they’ll warn you, never let anything valuable out of your sight. Thieves are very bold there. It’s like most big cities, don’t look like a tourist and pay attention. If you contact Vyrus, Bimota and MV before you go and just tell them you would like to stop by, they’re very friendly. August is when most go on vacation, so it’s not the ideal time. Officially these guys don’t rent bikes. But if you’re cool and likable, they’ll work something out with you. Riding there is different from the US. They’re really into bikes, and they ride a lot faster…. but everybody is faster than me.

Thanks. Do you have a favorite place to stay there? I'm thinking we're flying into Zurich, renting a car, wind our way thru the Alps and probably end up in Naples.

They’re really into bikes, and they ride a lot faster….

That's total nonsense. Pretty much says that the guy who wrote it is a tourist

There are bikes in Adriatic cost for sure, but what you would see mostly is just a bunch of Chinese scooters of daily commuters.

It is absolutely boring to ride a bike on the Rimini coastline, mainly because the area is flat.
It gets more interesting towards the inland, past San Marino towards Florence.

I love how EU is already collapsing, disagreements between Germany and France
I’m sure you’ve heard of the law of unintended consequences. It states that the actions taken by military or economic decision makers with a specific objective in mind can lead to unexpected outcomes. MAGA may think Trump is the macho man, but the rest of the world thinks he’s a rude bully who likes to belittle people who are less fortunate. What happens when all of these people with no power, suddenly decide they don’t want to buy American products? What do you think the average Canadian or Mexican is thinking right now? European’s and the rest of the world didn’t like how he treated Zelenskyy. Musk is getting a small taste of what people think of him and his Tesla brand. I think the front line Ukrainian soldiers are about to prove how badly your hero has underestimated them. Trump says he doesn’t understand why Ukrainians are willing to take such a pounding for their .... hole country? Of course he doesn’t understand, he’s a coward and a traitor.
I think America is about to get a lesson in the law of unintended consequences.

What are you talking about? Their disagreement on how to best spend the 180 Billion on defence? Germany wants the quick solution, France wants to buy from EU producers...not exactly collapsing.

You're a grown up man but writing such silly black-and-white statements that are just factually wrong.
Just because Trump doesnt fit the leftist agenda in the US doesnt mean "the world" thinks he is rude.
Actually, everyone thinks he's an ass...even his supporters. The more I read your comments the more I think you're only here to be a troll...

Oh well, it is entertaining to read and try to figure how anyone can write such ...

🤷‍♂️
