“The slip on exhaust does not exactly just slip on. It takes about 8 hours to install a slip on exhaust which is right around $1,000”

says the dealership service center
I call it price gouging

I have a Zard slipon in transit and I figured it would take me 2 hrs max to install myself.

How long did it take you to install your slipon?

I am usually pretty handy (youtube certified); this time i took to a AMA class trustworthy mechanic (not Ducati); full system; he did it under 4 hours. slipon; 2 hours should be reasonable

Do not do that and do not pay that. 20mins for lower fairings. A few mins to remove the exhaust can bolts. 1/2hr to fight with the stock can and get it to come off. 20mins to install new exhaust. Now, if you ever want to re-install your stock exhaust, that is going to take hours as your gas tank has to come off, your rear frame removed, and the rear header bolts loosened at the head to get enough play in the rear header to put the stock exhaust can back on.
