Right side is the 44440312B OEM filter, which is the correct part # for the 1299

did you dbl check the inner diameter for the rubber grommet/seal? seemed to me that the K&N is slightly bigger... i did return mine.

I ordered a K&N a month ago. It still hasn't come. I'll pull out the digital caliper and measure every dimension and compare to oem when it comes.

I would love to know if you find any variances at all... I've always used K&N for oil filters and either K&N or BMC for air filters...

90% of everything in the US is made in China or in a SE Asian economy. The Ducati Scrambler is made in Thailand.

Is the K&N part number the same for the 1199 and 1299? Sometimes aftermarket companys are slow to react to changes. K&N is usually the exception

I confirmed that 44440312B is the correct part # for the 1299 and the 1199 with a Ducati dealer. KN-159 is the part # for the 1199 (1299 is not yet listed on the K&N website), but dimensionally it is essentially identical to the 44440312B, which is why I ordered both and posted pics

In the filter paper and particle count tests I've seen (and there aren't many), the results in order of best performance (in terms of filtering) are: 1) Amsoil/RP microglass (not available for this bike), 2) K&N/Mobil 1 resin impregnated "semi-synthetic", 3) OEM style cellulose. The better filters get at least 98% efficiency for 20 micron

Have you received and installed the KN-159 in your 1299 yet? (Or has anybody)

I typically order about 6-8 filters at once when I get a new bike, but want to make sure the KN159 is correct before ordering.

Very soon (installing it) - what are your concerns? Several 1199 owners use them

I just installed a K&N KN-159 in my 1299 yesterday. Looks identical to stock filter I removed. Given, it was covered in oil, its difficult to tell how close. But it looks VERY similar.

I have a oil filter that I got from the dealer that is 444.4.029 1C - Is this the same part but with a different number than the one above? I usually use K&N for my 1199 (and now 1299.)

I found this extra one in the back of the drawer. A google search and forum search dont pull up any relevant information

I had planned to provide detailed measurements comparing the two with a caliper but my K&N never came. When I checked the tracking number with UPS it showed that "a label has been created but the item has not been delivered to our facility yet." When I contacted the K&N online sales about it I didn't get any reply, then almost two weeks later a refund showed up in my account. I had them include two new filters when I bought the bike so I used one of them when I changed the oil and still have one sitting around. I'm not in any hurry to order another K&N after my experience with them.

I don't have concerns as far as K&N goes, I have used them in everything. But I have read several posts on this forum where people have said the 1299 takes a different oil filter than the 1199, or that the part number wasn't the same for the 1199 and 1299.

I just want to make sure the K&N fits and verify the part number before ordering 10 of them.
