Hey guys - thread title pretty much says it all. My 1199 was stolen from our car port in St Kilda East over the weekend. Rego is 1I3YV - other identifying features include a ducabike clear clutch cover, Bitubo steering damper, tech spec tank pads, DP race seat. If anyone happens to see it, or sees a stack of panigale parts advertised anywhere, it'd be great if you could let me know.

I feel your pain!!! I had a gsxr1000 and a crf450 stolen in one summer. No insurance on either bike. I ....... hate thieves!!!!!!!

Any news Mick?

Not even a call or visit from St Kilda Police - pretty pathetic really. Just went through the interview process with the Investigator QBE appointed - maybe he'll follow up with the police but I'm not holding my breath !

If they are anything like the WA police they have been busy catching speeding motorists over the weekend..

Far too busy to be looking for criminals.

Will you go a Panigale again with the payout?

The payout won't be enough to cover a like for like replacement - but we'll see how much funding I can scrape together !

I feel for you me man, this sucks ....

These high-end vehicles don't get stolen very often, they are too easy to spot. But when they do, they are probably already in a cargo container heading to another continent. Middle-east, South Asian, South American would be my guess.

Update for everyone - they found my bike ! Tracked some lowlife riding it and pulled him over as he pulled into his driveway. Insurance company has had it towed to Frasers in the city to quote on any necessary repairs (cops said there didn't appear to be any damage though - but I imagine the ignition must have been changed out as I had all the keys).

The insurer did seem to be indicating that it doesn't take much to write these bikes off though, as the salvage value is so high.

That is great news! Depending on where you live Grand Theft can be a serious crime and he may be looking at time.

In the U.S. you can file a civic law suit against the perpetrator, If you can prove the bike was stored at the location where they caught the thief, you can sue the owner of the property as well..

Good luck, no pity for criminals.

Good to know they found it!

I thought these bikes wouldnt start without the key/chip. How in the hell he was riding it like if he owned it!?

Deeply satisfying to hear this. Not a good feeling to have something stolen.
