Was showing a mate how to do an oil change on his 1199 base when he was asking about some things he noticed about his clutch.

- At idle in with clutch out there seems to be a small random knock, with clutch lever in this goes away.

- The clutch doesnt grip with any sort of bite. You try and pop the clutch to lift the front wheel and it just doesnt bite. Yet there is no slipping during any riding or under accel.

I bled the clutch, did change anything, so I pop the cover off and pulled out the plates to see if they were wore. Plates are ok, but notice some wear marks shown in below photos.

Compare to my Pani this clutch is very soft, doesn't bite and feels very weird when clutch lever is out in netural.

bike has done around 35000Kms. Dont think its even been on track, but proly abit of city riding.

Any idea's?

measure the Clutch plate stack height,
it may be that the friction plates are worn, and the clutch pack is now too small.
this could explain the engagement issue

measure the stack and the clutch springs.

stack ia 50.5 (50.8 min) But plates/pads when measure each are ok
Spring is 44mm (45mm min)

Have to see what we can do....
Springs could install some 1-2mm shims and i'll try and find some plates in my box of bits to make stack up..

i would say its time for a new set of springs and a clutch kit then if its below the min. otherwise you just delaying the inevitable
