are these necessary with a tune and an aftermarket exhaust?
From what I gather, yes.
I'm installing a rapid bike kit (On top of full Term system with Up-map) which adjusts A/F ratios based on data it gathers from the o2 sensors. If the P-air system is adding in air to burn off un-ignited fuel, I imagine this would negatively impact the readings and not be optimal for the RB.
This is my understanding of the process though so I may not be spot on with that. Would love to hear other input -

PS - I've been running the full termi system with the upmp on my S without the block plates and I think it runs fine - so they may not be necessary in that regard.
But if you're going to be doing further tuning I think its important.
I think they will also void your warranty so important to remove if going to dealer...
