wow, that's very interesting. The exhaust is ridiculous but have any of you noticed the motor's heat shielding for the right side?

Not sure that's for heat so much as for noise, which is apparently what prompted the retro can. Pani has a lot of valvetrain noise, which is amplified by the acoustics of the hard-mounted aluminum airbox/monocoque. Rear subframe is still exposed, which being AL and bolted to the head is going to carry a lot of heat; I think leg contact with that is probably where the folks who have been getting minor burns are getting them from.
 
I am at a loss for words. Can someone translate "I am so sorry that Ducati Japan has done this to the 1199 in your market region!"

I think that acts as a right side frame slider...That thing sticks out!
 
No no no no no....bureaucracy gone mad.
Imagine the designers in Duacti, what they would say? I would not buy one in protest.
