I'm lucky enough to have both. For those of you who also do, which bike do you end up riding the most? My poor multi is sitting too much unless I take my wife out. I know they do different things but like this morning I took the 1199 with a nasty forecast.. I'm not thinking clearly. Well, age may eventually make that decision for me. For now it's the little light speedster getting all my love.... :D

Good question. I don't have an MTS, but I had a Streetfighter at the same time I had the Panigale and now I have a BMW GS (I considered the Hyper and Multi as well, but settled on the GS so I can hit some offroad stuff). I find myself doing exactly the opposite as you and taking the stable mates (whatever they may be) out more often than the Pani. The Pani for me has such a limited useful range due to comfort (riding position and heat) and function (not the best bike to be on in inclement weather or for transporting luggage or carryout) that I usually pick something else for what I am doing (commuting, rain in the forecast, currently raining, picking up Chinese, etc.). The Pani comes out of the quiver on weekends when it is nice and I can go hit the roads I want to hit with no particular destination or task in mind. If I had to keep one, the Pani would be in the classifieds.

I also love your BMW. :)

Bmw

It's funny, more people gather at the r75 than the other bikes. It may be worth more than both ducati's in 10 years. It's my Zen and the Art of MM bike..

Is that the same model that John rode in the book? It's been a while since I read it. I remember Pirsig's references to John's "fancy" BMW motorcycle though. :)

John rode an R60 I think

If I think about that book today my Multistrada has become Johns bike and the Beemer is the fix-N-ride. (Though it is better than that)

I ride the 1199 mostly... I like the MTS a lot, commute frequently and take it on trips. But, I'm always drawn to the pani if I have the choice.

i have a Monster, and some non-Ducati's

i hate to say it as well, but i have to make a concerted effort to remember to ride the others, the Monster is definitely number 2 in the rotation, but a very distant number 2

Got an older Multi for "mule" purposes and it's gathering dust.
Went on a 3day roadtrip with the wife last week and took the Pani. I don't have comfort issues and the ride is waaay more fun.

You did a 3 day two up trip on the Pani? Ok, now I feel like a real weenie. :)

Typically my Pani was weekend fun/track bike. I took my Harley to work every day. In a year or two, I am thinking to trade/sell for something else. Probably like Diavel, Monster, or Triumph type for easy daily riding.

In Anit-hero's eyes he would be the weenie. You would be the .... the weenie ..... out...

Those are jokes:p

I don't know how they do it altough the pani feels really comfortable I don't think it's lay-z boy comfort.. I'm a bigger bloke though & it's more of years of basketball and the knees screaming than anything else.. weather it's 3 day 2 up or cross country I don't think I possess that kind of masochistic (spelled it right on the first try) personality. Serious question Capt... How do you like the GS I like the look especially with the new headlights.. I also like how they looked in the Batman film.. But performance I have no clue...Either that or a monster but that's a different thread...

Was not a 2up trip, wife rides a Can-Am Spyder. Ideal combo really, this thing has a huge trunk to haul luggage and we'd get tired or fed up at the same time.

Having sold my multi st two days before picking up my Pani, I can honestly say I'd probably be out on the multi much more. It scratches every itch the 1199 can on public roadways and more! Once my Pani is paid off and I've got extra $$ I'm adding to my bikes with another Multi. I'm sure half the people who say 1199 never owned/rode a multi. Both amazing bikes! Unless you're tracking it I really don't see the need for the extra power of the 1199 over the multi. Around town/short highway trips the Multi does everything the 1199 can.

Does that mean you're keeping it now? Just last week you were swearing up and down how pissed you were at Ducati and they were going to buy back your bike because of the shifter coming loose.
