Just bought one of these . MTS power but the ability to take it off road as well great all rounder . Does awesome monos

Very nice, if I were to do any off-road riding I would have gotten the 1200GS rather than the MTS, but I like your bike! If there were any KTM dealers reasonably close, I would've considered that too.

I really like the MTS though, it does so many things really well. But, despite what people say it does not satisfy the sportbike experience. I love riding the Pani.

Don't get me wrong I love the MTS as well . The BMW is also a excellent bike but can be tough going in anything other that hard pack dirt .
I would be happy to own anyone of them .

In Anit-hero's eyes he would be the weenie. You would be the .... the weenie ..... out...

Those are jokes:p

I don't know how they do it altough the pani feels really comfortable I don't think it's lay-z boy comfort.. I'm a bigger bloke though & it's more of years of basketball and the knees screaming than anything else.. weather it's 3 day 2 up or cross country I don't think I possess that kind of masochistic (spelled it right on the first try) personality. Serious question Capt... How do you like the GS I like the look especially with the new headlights.. I also like how they looked in the Batman film.. But performance I have no clue...Either that or a monster but that's a different thread...
I think all these bikes shine in different areas so you just have to figure out what you are going to use it for and then choose accordingly. For me, the GS works out great as my primary means of transportation. It gets great gas mileage, handles well in the wet, fits in my parking garage at work, has excellent low end fueling for stop and go traffic and is really all-day comfortable. Is it fast? No. A monster 696 would probably leave me in the dust. On the Pani forum its performance is laughable, but that's not what it's for. For me, on anything but a fun ride in the twisties the Pani is a square peg in a round hole. Once I stopped trying to make it do what it isn't designed to do she and I started to get along a lot better. :). IMHO, the farkles on that bike are so much more fun too. No gloss vs matte shock covers or anodized blue bolts you get to buy manly things like crash bars, skid plates and gas cans!

Having sold my multi st two days before picking up my Pani, I can honestly say I'd probably be out on the multi much more. It scratches every itch the 1199 can on public roadways and more! Once my Pani is paid off and I've got extra $$ I'm adding to my bikes with another Multi. I'm sure half the people who say 1199 never owned/rode a multi. Both amazing bikes! Unless you're tracking it I really don't see the need for the extra power of the 1199 over the multi. Around town/short highway trips the Multi does everything the 1199 can.

AGREE 100%!!!!! I plan to but a good pre-owned MTS1200 soon... then will give it a custom paint - Pikes Peak Replica....this will be my 2nd bike to take my wife up on trips...But yes...I have ridden a MTS, it is such an awesome machine...jack of all trades kinda bike!

But master of none.

Sorry 'bout this but if I want to ride a bike I'll take the Pani.

If I need comfort I'll take the car.

If I need to bring stuff I'll take the truck.

IF I want to go off road a 450R will be the choice.

But my wife wants to experience riding with me too...so a good used MTS is in my sights...this is the main problem.

For hardcore street and track riding....wont trade anything for my Pani.:D
But for two up riding WITH MY WIFE, with a bike that handles so well and will give my wife and I the comfort while riding tandem?...The MTS1200 is my choice. I dont do offroad...dont like getting dirty and all...

I dont have too many stuff...so I dont need a truck.
Car? Well we have two SUV's...we have all the comfort while "Driving"....

But I want a bike I can take my wife along comfortably...a bike that will out handle some, if not, most sportbikes in capable hands...a bike with lots of torque and enough power (150hp). A bike with class! That bike is the MTS1200.

I disagree, not saying Ducati or the MTS is for everyone, but it does everything very well. It's range is pretty unbelievable quite frankly. Of course I could take my car or suv, but for a bike it's range is fantastic. Especially if you could only have one bike. Off-road, I agree it lacks. If you just want a touring bike, get a K1600GTL, dirt? KTM, etc...

I did a 7000 km dirt touring trip last year cant imagine of doing them on anything but a BMW 1200 or now the KTM .
I love this sort of riding and keep the Panigale for the track .

Nice pic!

I think if I lived in AUS, I would do a lot of dirt touring myself. I'm sure its a great fun...I just need to watch myself since AUS has the most deadly creatures in the world. :D

Pani track only conversion , so no ambiguous feelings . Its multi on the street and some dedicated misses time .. All while still riding ..
