1199 Race Headers--manifold question--threaded hole NOT for oxygen sensor--what to do?

Hello all--I'm installing my Termi race headers onto my Termi race silencers today--had the headers coated with Jet-Hot--looking forward to experiencing cooler exhaust--hopefully!

My question: I'm noticing both vertical and horizontal manifolds have an extra threaded hole close the the mount flange that is NOT the threaded hole for the oxygen sensors.

What do I do with this hole? Leave it open? Plug it with an appropriate short bolt? Seems counterintuitive to have an open hole on each manifold, but perhaps this is by design?

The instructions show the hole on the drawings, but make no mention of what to do with it. Seems strange.

TIA for any help!

Thanks for the reply--I figured it out. Was going to update this thread.

The smaller threaded holes on the manifolds are for the stock exhaust header bungs--they are M10 x .9 thread. I spent several hours today at several auto part and hardware stores trying to match that hole with bolts. No luck. Then I called Ducati Austin and got a tech on the phone. He explained that I need to take the stock small bung plugs off the OE headers and put them on the race manifolds. Glad I still had the OE exhaust in a box in the garage!

Those OE small M10 x .9 plugs will NOT be found in your local hardware store-- M10 x .9 thread? Ducati makes everything such a pain in the azz...! Installing the Termi race headers today and that has been a MAJOR pain!

The large OE Lambda sensors installed on the race exhaust, with each header having its own dedicated larger threaded hole--I think M12.

Are you asking about the manifold smaller holes? Did the Ducati tech mention their purpose? No- I didn’t ask- I just was glad to learn I already had the correct plugs.

I imagine they are tuning ports however. ??

Sounds right. Obviously not for use with the stock system. I suppose kits like Tuner Boy provide these additional sensors? What are the stock Lambda sensors--wide or narrow? The OE Lambdas require a larger port obviously.

So my confusion is: (and it's no big deal because I've got the Termi race exhaust finally installed and all is well with the world). is---if the OEM M12 Lambda sensors are narrow band, what are the smaller M10 x .9 threaded holes for? This must mean that M18 Lambda ports must be for wide band--I don't see those on Termi exhausts.

Again, I contend that these smaller M10 x .9 holes are for tuning ports. They also exist on the OEM 50mm headers, plugged from the factory, which is where I retrieved mine to install on said M10 manifold ports.

Safe to assume these smaller M10 holes are NOT O2/Lambda sensor ports?

And bp_SFV4--yes, the OEM M10 sensor plugs fit--see my post #3. I retrieved them from the OEM 50MM headers-

My tuner used those ports for the dyno tune. His dyno uses O2 sensors located off the bike, copper tube directs exhaust gases from the M10 port to the remote sensors.

Makes sense, thank u. I wish the Termi instruction manual for the race headers was more clear. The various fasteners in the parts bag were unlabeled and easily confused with others during install. They also pictured a completely different rear header carbon cover mount bracket than the one included, and also didn’t even mention several rubber bushings included in the bag. Turns out 2 of them pushed into the aforementioned rear cover bracket. Gotta love the Italians!
