My recently purchased 1199 Superleggera with only 1700 miles has developed a crack on the vertical exhaust manifold on its Ti full Akra.

Looking for some guidance on fixing it. I've called around and some welders are willing to weld it but are asking me to provide my own titanium tubing. Did some research online and Ti comes in variety of grade and thickness - no idea what I need to buy. I also have 0 knowledge in welding so not entirely confident that i'd be able to tell whether these local welders would do a good job that'll hold up

I've read a few other threads on Panigale owners having issues with their headers cracking but it boggles my mind that mine cracked with only 1700 miles.

Thanks in advance

I'm not any help with regard to how to fix this. I had a 1199 sl and while it was a beautiful bike it's not worth the price tag....at least not the original msrp.

i'd go find a local shop that does Ti welding ,explain your expectations and check with them what they are able to do.

but OTOH, i'd shoot it by ducati first and make them feel really uncomfortable...

I have both sets of exhausts from my 1199 Superleggera if you need. Didn't really want to part with any but I guess if you need and it needs to be correct, shoot me a note.

Thanks all. Phl that OCD vendor looks promising. I'll give 'em a call.
