Hello! New to the DUKE world! I’ve had many liter bikes this is my first real bike!
Just bought a 2012 1199 panigale S
So….when he engine gets to about 190-210F
The kickstand sensor goes off and says that the stand is down (when it’s not) and turns off the bike, (unless it’s in neutral). Also, my check engine light comes on. Once it cools off, both lights go off and the bike is fine?
What the hell is this??

I had this issue in the past, was particularly fun when the kickstand decided it was down while on the motorway and turned the bike off at speed, loved that.

Anyway, I replaced the sensor and did lots of troubleshooting, in the end to find out that I put dielectric grease in the kickstand sensor connectors and it solved itself. Grease disappears over time with heat cycles, water etc. and lets the dry pins corrode.

Clean up the pin, stick some dielectric grease in it and it may come back to life.
