If you look on Ducati - Bikes, Equipment, Accessories, Racing, Company, Dealer - Official Site Ducati > BIKES > Superbike.... you will notice that as of the EICMA Milan show, there is no more 1199 Panigale S Tri-colore.

Being that this bike is a major forward step for Ducati under the old Italian ownership (prior to Audi's acquisition), I think that this bike will be appreciating in value.

Just my opinion.

What do you think?

The Tri is indeed gone and is not available for purchase anymore.. its just the base, S and R now.. nice catch there George.. I just noticed the same after seeing ur post..

So yes.. folks like Gunny and others who own a Tri.. congrats on being proud owners of a unique paint scheme bike and hang on to those ;)

I think all Tricolores are collectibles.

Tri is best looking Pani IMHO. Love owning one, love riding it. If it appreciates, bonus! i think it might, but that is dependent on the ecomony.

maybe in 30 years it will appreciate not anytime soon.

2012 pani s you can get 16500 for them now. ok so maybe slightly more for a tri. ask evol he got a tri for dirt cheap with almost no miles

The Ducati tri was just a model, as opposed to earlier versions were a "special edition". I am thinking over time it would hold equal or less value then the S, as fewer people care for the color combo.

If memory serves the Tric was the 2nd best selling model in the 1199 range..... Given this any dreams /hopes /desires of collectability are misplaced.....

The only place the value of any 1199 is going is DOWN! White is more rare than the Tricolore, you must have been on a hell of a drug when you came to that conclusion ... Share with the rest of us, eh?

Also to consider is how Ducati will replace all Ohlins forks and suspension in the very near future with Skyhook junk - it was done on the New Multistrada, and when that happens to the 1199's - then the Ohlins equipped bikes (including the Tri-colore) will trade higher.

It happened with the Monster, and the Hypermotard as well.... Sacks replaced the Ohlins and the prices went up in MSRP.

Did the value of the Ohlins equipped Multistradas go up when the Skyhook system was introduced????

As far I can remenber, the tricolores editions where only sold during limited time.

Collectable? I don't think so. I think it will hold up it's value better then the S or base.

Collectable for me are just limited/numbered versions, like the Desmo or the 1199 SL.

For that matter, the 1198 should keep that value better, since it was the last model with trelis frame (Ducati image in bikes), and underseat exhaust.

Many of the Ducatisti didn't liked to see those changes.
