No snow in Denver currently....but that can change with a few hours notice. Hopefully we are well passed the majority of the snow as I do intend to get quite a bit riding in soon.
From what I can tell, the break in period will be pretty uneventful from an all out fun stand point. I'm hoping to get in a couple of track days with the new Super Street class the MRA is allowing beginning racers to join in on.
I am transitioning from a Harley back to the SportBike world after a 15 year absence so the whole experience is going to be surreal. My transition out of sport bikes was much quicker as my decision to run from the police on my Ninja 750 was a lesson in poor judgement that deleted both my drivers license, my motorcycle endorsement for a period and a fair bit of my savings. I had an Interceptor 500 prior to that (which should date me appropriately) that just didn't have enough guts.
All that said, I expect to be a little timid for at least the first 30 minutes once I get on this new bike. ;-)
I am no expert on SportBikes at this point but I'm also not stupid enough to think I can just jump on it and get back up to speed in one outing. With my wife towing along on her CBR600, I will have plenty of time to familiarize myself with the bike before hitting it hard (most likely when she's not around). I'm sure there are plenty of you that will think this is way too much bike for me...and I will agree. The opportunity to get this bike was too much to pass up for its uniqueness and limited availability so now I have to skill up to meet the challenge.
I've already got a whole lot more invested in riding wardrobe than I ever thought so I have to do something with it.
