1199r VS 1199/1299 Swingarm

Recently i wrecked my 1199r racing.
I have purchased an 1199/1299 swingarm in used condition.
My question is what is the difference?
I know you can change the geometry of the swingarm with the R. Does this have to do with the actual swingarm itself or is it an attached piece?
The part number for the swingarm is different 37021372AA for the R and 37021106BA for the 1199/12999.

Does anyone here have a definitive answer?

Think i found my own answer, the pivot piece is a kit, the swingarms should be the exact same, which makes me wonder, why is their different part numbers for the same swingarm?

Youtube channel DESMOWERX has a video that may help explain.

There is no difference in the 1199/1299 swing arm itself. The difference is in the pivot shaft assembly. The 1199 and 1299 engine cases and the R&L swing arm attachment brackets are also different from each other. If you are just putting a 1299 swing arm on an 1199 (base or R) it will bolt right up. Likewise if you are just putting an 1199 swing arm on a 1299, it will bolt right up. You cannot however swap 1199 and 1299 attachment brackets (pieces the rear sets bolt to). These are slightly different at the swing arm shaft centerline.

If you need a set of the stock pivot bolts/hardware I have a complete set. I also have titanium version in stock they are not available anywhere else.

Thanks endodoc for the explanation!

With that being said, using the same theory, I think the V2 swingarm will work on a 1199.
The V2 swingarm pivot assemble part no. is the same as the 1299, and the 1299 swingarm will work on a 1199.
Although the V2 swingarm part number is different than the 1299 swingarm, but the swingarm casting outer shelf should be the same, as they looks identical and the bolt-on parts are using the same part no.

Ducati part #s are a mess. I have many identical parts with different part numbers. I believe the V2 swing arm and the 99s are indeed the same.

I should be fine to place the swingarm on and place the brackets onto it for direct fit, correct?

I believe the attachment pieces are fine and dont need to be replaced, but that is yet to be determined.

Can this be confirmed? There is one for sale right now on Ebay for 800

The swingarms are all the same the difference is the mounts. The 1199R and 1299 are different pivot location. If the eccentric bolts are worn it will be visible always best to have the micrometer handy as well.

Researching this myself and found your old thread.

Can you confirm:
1. Swingarm is same (1199, 1299, V2)
2. Difference is in the R & L L shaped brackets?

This part is different I believe and they changed the pivot location

I found this in another site but need to validate "
The swing arm is 4 mm lower the head angle has gone from 24.5 to 24 degrees .
This can all be changed on a 1199 and does work better but really not that noticeable as a street bike .
The motor and electronics on the 1299 at every nice the 1199 is more of a bike that works better revving .
The 1299 is a nicer bike but the 1199 is not awful either ."
