for sure i have the dame plan. i had a 1198s and i almost cried when they guy that bought it was loading her onto his truck. def should have kept it. but i plan on riding this one untill the wheels fall off. the gloss carbon is def eaiser to find than the matte.Looking good. I'm in the process of doing mine too as I'm keeping the 1299 for the long term - thought I'd turn it into a 'carbon monster'. I'm doing gloss carbon though - will be interesting to see the difference between the bikes.
Ha ha - here in Australia I've been finding the opposite re: matte vs gloss availability. We are a little 'upside down' here though
