Hey Guys,

Rode my bike and hit a bunch of rain Yesterday. Washed it today to get it clean. Went to start it up and ride and now the Clutch makes a grinding noise pulling it in. Coming from inside the engine which I am guessing is clutch plates grinding. Anyone else with this problem. I did a YouTube vid. Link included.

Could it of got water in there? Beginning to get mad at buying this thing!!!

Mikro I feel your pain.. Had my water pump fail at 500 miles. I know how you feel with ducati right now. I tried to view your video but couldn't due to couldn't due to a message stating it's private.

Sorry I had it private DeDuc1299S. Please view it again.

I have intermittent stalling issues, the shift linkage bolt backed out and gouged my swing arm. Now this.

Sorry to hear about your water pump.

Found this Too. Obviously Ducati Doesn't Fix their Defects! Here is a guy on a 1199 that does the same thing.

What a joke. Read his comments

They can have this thing back.

Check the slave cylinder, mine was making noise, pulled of slave cylinder threw some lubricant in and it was gone. There a o ring around the guide I guess you could call it and that was the culprit in my case.

Kevin1199. Thanks. I am guessing you are correct that is is the slave. Now that I have calmed down a bit. I will take it back to the dealer and have them look at it.

It's Sunday today so dealer isn't open until tomorrow.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the help and knowledge.

Damn you've been having a string of bad luck. Hope they step up and get you going quick.

Yeah speaking from experience on my 1199 they had to replace the slave cylinder. It was recalled by Ducati so even if the bike is out of warranty, they covered it. But in your case with a new 1299 I wouldn't worry about cost. Good luck man.

Update:

It was the slave like you guys thought. Dealer took it off and found water in it, from me washing it. They cleaned it and greased it. Said everything looked fine. I have rode it for about 30 miles since and seems fine.

Think I am gonna order an aftermarket one for a back up.

Good to hear it's fixed. They didn't plan for riding in rain or folks washing them I guess.

You didn't use a pressure washer while washing it did you?
If so that is a no no with bikes High pressure can get inside wheel bearings, steering head bearing swing am bearings and O rings in the chain etc. and cause all kids of problems.. Normal washing/rain should not have been able to get inside the unit.. IF that is the case then they need to install new askets or slave unit...
