Hey guys

Need some help and I'm interested in doing this swap, anyone know what problems they've had or any issues, I saw somewhere that it was done however there was an error code.
Has this been fixed?

I'd think you would have a Hard time getting the 1299 dash onto the 959, as you have no CAN information on wheelie control. But one solution could be getting loom, ecu, BBS and dash from an 1199 and retune it with Tuneboy? It's a lot of work though...

I guess nobody cracked the error display yet

No. Its software issue between the 899/959 version and 1199/1299 version which bring ups the fault code.
Some have sucess with bike operation, some cant even start bike up.

I did ask the Tuneboy's people about cahnge of a work around.....never got a reply.

The Fancy electronic aids are in the ECU not in the dash. Thou you would need to find a base model dash as the 1299S brings up more errors due to suspension. R has a different ECU so dont know about that one.

Sell up, buy a 1299 base...... never look back.

*Update*

So a mate had a spare 1199 base dash laying around and after a few beers decided to swap it out and see for myself if it worked on the 899.

It does work. Its starts, Runs and rides like normal. Even my Tuneboy settings are fine.

It still have Error code - which is related to software version differences between 899 ECU/Dash/BBS or the like & 1199 dash

I thinking of finding a BBS unit for 1199 and seeing if that would help clear the code.
If not i'll chat with my tuner to see if he can look in the ECU and "clear" the fault code during a reflash.

As for the 959, I would use a 1199 Base dash as the 1299 has the fancy DWC etc etc which would cause more troubles on.

If you could get a 899/1199 959/1299 lcd swap you’ll be a rich man because I think this is on everyone’s wish list , that color tft screen is pretty cool
