1299 Panigale R Final Edition

One of my best friends has a 1098R. He loves that bike but he is now contemplating the 1299FE. I wish WERA would modify the HW Twins class to allow the new upcoming V4 to run in that class. I know, I know...power etc. But, I can wish. I'm itching to see the 1299 FE in person. If it's better than my 1299S race bike, it will be an incredible race bike. I'm glad Chaz is getting a V4 for next year. I love World SB and I have a subscription. I watch Chaz race his 1199R and it is impressive how hard he can ride that bike. He seems like a good dude in general. If he rides the V4 next year as hard as he rides his twin, Mr. Rea may be in trouble. Just my 2 cents.

Chaz is gettting a V4 next year? I thought the 1199R was to compete until 2019 when the V4 would then replace the Panigale in WSBK.

I have a couple of questions. Does anyone know the price of the 1299 R final edition? Also, is this bike built in limited numbers or is it simply like my 1299S when it comes to production?

Thanks guys. Peace.

45K in cali ! that's with taxes, title, freight, setup blah blah blah...out the door

What dealer said they would have a demo of the FE? I call ........ on that, especially since they are no demos of a R. The only time I've seen anything close to that was a used one or they let a serious customer take one out.

Good call but that's what Cameron at Redmond Ducati said. The point was that these bikes will not be hard to come by although only a serious customer will be able to take one out. Kind of like the R but I believe the Rs were more limited than these bikes will be. I have been offered test rides on the R by the dealer who I bought my 13R from but I've talked to other dealers who would let me test ride an R (I think mainly because of my age and ownership). Yes, it would probably be easier to test ride a 1299S. But if you're serious about buying either, test ride both to see if it's worth it to you to spend $15k more for 12hp more and a unique paint job. That will be easy to do at any Ducati dealer serious about selling sportbikes like most of the NW dealers up here. ;) While you're at it, try the leftover 1199R model too for probably $5-10k less.

Ok I know, it all depends on who you are and how serious you are about buying. I just have a hard time seeing them have a $40k demo bike. Aside from the SL it's the most expensive bike in the line.

..and they probably wouldn't be in the demo fleet. Still, they gotta sell 'em to help pay for developing the new V4!

I didn't know Chaz wouldn't get the V4 for another year or so. Thanks for the info. I watch him ride and maybe I'm wrong, but not only is he riding up to the limit on his twin, but he goes 2 steps beyond. It seems to me that he has to fight for every inch to stay ahead of Johnny Rea. I don't know if it's the V twin versus inline 4 thing or just simply the fact that Johnny Rea is uber talented. Probably a little of both. I was simply hoping Chaz would get a V4, which would not require him to ride like his ... was on fire and he wouldn't DNF so much. But, it probably doesn't matter if Chaz is on a twin or the V4. When you line up against a guy like Johnny Rea, it's going to be a long day at the office. Peace.
