I previously asked this in the 959 forum, but that section doesn't get much attention.

Can anyone confirm what parts from the 1299 will fit a 959? Im not concerned with OEM parts, I am talking about parts it would take to race prep a 959.

Exhaust
Rearsets
Bodywork
Levers
Rapidbike
etc.

Exhaust, rearsets, levers, bodywork - Yes

RapidBike - Would have to be sent back for reprogramming.

Now quit joking like you're getting a 959 as a B bike and pick up another 1299s from D&D.

You dont need to send it back for reprogramming. You just need the map for the 959 and maybe the wiring harness IF its different between the two bikes which I doubt.

Haha.

I haven't made up my mind. I am strongly considering a 959, but not if finding parts for it is going to be a huge pain in the .....

A 959 is legal for the B/750 classes.

In just thinking about the 959, it might be the perfect bike. Nimble and light, while having a lot of torque and good HP, but a little easier to control/ride than the 1299 so you could feel like you can manhandle and ring the .... out of it, rather than holding on for deal life most of the time.

Ive always thought a Gixxer 750 is the best all-around bike on the planet. More power than a 600, but easier to ride than a 1000. Strong enough to accelerate hard, power wheelie, etc...but you still feel like you are in charge and can ride the .... out of it like a 600. Unfortunately Suzuki essentially hasn't done .... with their 750 since 2006, and I don't feel like waiting another 2-3 years for their new Liter bike technology to trickle down to the 750 (assuming it even will).

Part of me is also considering the MV F3 800, for all of those same reasons. But this 959 makes a little more sense because many of the spares I have accumulated for the 1299S (obviously except for the wheels) should carry over, and it wont be too much of a different bike to get used to because the ergos etc will all be the same.

I just got off the phone with Cycle Pro to confirm. They said it has to be sent in. Pay shipping and they'll reprogram it for free as long as the module was originally purchased from them.

Wiring harness is the same.

As far a CR option, you could run the 1299 in 120LOW power mode...

I believe suspension from a 1x99 base or R would shift across to the 959 with perhaps just a change of upper yoke?

I thought i read somewhere that Ducati was talking about or perhaps releasing an S or R version of the 959. Did i dream that or is that for real?

.

rather than holding on for dear life most of the time.

This i will never get to know :( lost my license for 6 months for trying to join the freeway with a little too much acceleration.

Simple twist of the wrist to get to freeway speed my bike did 150 km/h in a split second on a 100 km/h zone :(

The 959 is a nice choice. Got to do several laps on one back to back with a 899 just to see the difference. Much more refined. I'd still switch out the QS, slipper clutch, auto Blipper, and better front brakes.

That's really all you'd need. Suspension is a nice upgrade, until you get within a couple of seconds of the track record I would t blow the cash. Like I said the bike is so much more refined and compliant, even more than the 899.
