Check the parts list for both bikes to see whether the bar and collar for the clip ons aren't the same part. Might just be placebo effect or it might be the change in rake.

The seat was changed from the 1199 to the 1299 and that could be affecting the feel.
do you maybe know if the 1299 seat would fit the 1199 ? Or maybe there are even better aftermarket solutions ?
I tested 959 and felt the contrary. The 959 felt front heavy at low speed compared to my 1199s. Which is weird because i have comfort seat on my 1199s and that thicker seat would've pushed me up and made the front "lower" relative to me. At trackspeed they are similar, except mine is a lot more confident (tuned ohlins) and lighter (lighter wheels, and lighter bike). We weighed both at road trim, the 959 was surprisingly 207kg with full tank which was the heaviest bike on the track (the others are 600s and they ranged from 174kg track r6 to 197 stockroad cbr600rr). My 1199s was 185kg with half tank or around 195kg with full tank and standard exhaust.

If I remember correctly I read that the 1299 seat was the DP seat. So it should fit. I never saw whether it was the DP race or comfort seat though. Supposed to sit you flatter versus being sloped into the tank.

OEM 1299 seat is the same as the OEM 899 (approximately 5mm taller than OEM 1199's) seat. Yes, it fits the 1199 and in my opinion, it is a good medium between the OEM 1199 seat and the DP comfort seat.

-OEM 1199 is rock hard but it sits you 'in the bike'.
-DP comfort seat is considerably softer/spongier but it sits you 'on the bike'.
-OEM 899/1299 seat is a middle ground between the two.
...The combination of the 1299's rake/geometry, seat, front fairing stay and taller windscreen are what lead you to feel that the bike is generally more comfortable than the 1199. That, as well as the 1299's less aggressive/twitchy throttle mapping (newer bike has a 'medium' throttle mode which the older bike doesn't have) make you feel the 1299 is more 'friendly'.
The 1199 and 1299 clip-ons are the same/interchangeable.
