Think Ducati will come out with a 1299R later this year? Maybe 90% of the Superleggera for maybe in the $thirties? It will probably be limited to 500.

You just never know with Ducati but I doubt it will be limited to 500?

Highly doubt it. The R is their race model and unless the rules in pro racing change and allow for higher displacement, this won't be happening.

the Current R is a good deal, you get alot of bike.

I also think when the new R is released i think it will start in the mid $40's.

Would make sense. There is actually a price cap of 40,000 euro in the WSBK rules for the model that is used for homologation.

Whoooohoo! Ideas for another limited edition just great! Ducati hasn't done enough the past three years

Maybe Ducati is going to do what the Japs do. Just Minor bodywork updates/colour on the same model for next 10 years, yet say its "all new"
Then release 10 special edition models every year like they do with the scambler...

The Panigale shape will never age i just wish they would give us the MV Agusta fuel tank and BMW S1000RR mirrors as well as the Aprilia V4 Sound :)

I think Ducati can get away with mid 40s if they limit it to 500...thirties if they want to sell more. I don't know if they can feasibly sell it in the twenties.

the base model sells for essentially 20k, if they made the R sell in the twenties, it would cannabalize their base and S model sales. The public would love it but Claudio would never ok it.

Ducati will sell as many as possible if they limit it to 500 and they get 1000 orders they will just run another batch just look at the D16.

the limited edition bikes from Ducati are becoming farcical.

No reason for it. As previously stated, the only reason the 1199R is produced is because racing rules for WSBK are capped at 1200cc.
