So Oberon is the recommended clutch slave cylinder out there?

It's probably better quality than the CNC Racing or Yoyodyne alternatives in terms of machining tolerances and is fairly priced. Not that the others are no good but Oberon are a reliable and trusted manufacturer, if a little more obscure than the bigger brands.

I changed to an oberon unit a while back and still had to bleed the f****** thing.
Put the old duc part back on to go in for a service and no difference being honest....
Its got to be the MC surely?

Did you guys use new crush washers, new o ring and lithium grease were needed?

I would have to wonder if you had a problem with the install. Many of us (myself included) haven't had an issue with the Oberon cylinder. I'm going on 2000 miles and almost a year without a bleed.

Yes you transfer the anti rotation black plastic piece over to the oberon unit but I would advise purchasing a new o ring for that piece as mine was damaged.

That kind sucks. What about if that's the faulty piece? They should sell the whole thing... hmmm!

The plastic piece stops the rod from turning I would say it can't be under any real pressure being made out of plastic.

The issue is the seal inside the slave

It's the master, not the slave! Mine did that (needed bleeding often). MUCH better after the master was replaced under warranty. I still carry an 11mm spanner in the tools, just in case...

Had this a on my 1199s 2012, after about 4 bleedings it did not come back anymore, could it be part of the braking-in period? I could find info this is a problem going back to the 916 days...

It can't be adjusted, but the pull can be made a lot easier by going to a 30mm clutch slave. The area of the clutch is calculated as pi*(D^2)/4. So going to a 30mm clutch will give you (30mm/26mm)^2 = 1.33 . So the 30mm clutch slave will reduce the force at the lever by 33%.
