Just starting getting this issue,
It says it's in 2nd then neutral and will flicker back and forth between neutral and 2nd without touching the gear lever.
have taken off the gear indicator sensor and cleaned it,
Checked the clutch lever switch and still getting the issue,

Any ideas?

Mine did that after I installed my rearsets. Try tuning/adjusting the shift rod. It worked for me.

my 1199s is flickering between 1 and N when siting at a stop light. Only when the bike is hot though... Super irritating.

I have this issue from time to time but it only happens under hard acceleration using the DQS. But its normally going from 2-3rd or 3-4th gear.

PS - I have a BlipBox installed which uses a load cell so I'm guessing it is something upstream from the switch/cell.

Before you adjust, check the bolts. I had the lower bolt/nut come loose enough to cause finding Netrual at ligths and the N light flashing.
When I changed rearsets I replaced the rod ends to better ones

Well, turns out I had installed wide band o2 sensors with controllers day before,
removed them and put back stock sensors, all is good now
Not sure how this would cause that issue.... Noise in circuit?

It was also a common problem in the 1199 and required a "reflash" of the sensor attached to the shift rod. Once is was done to mine, the problem never came back.

It was a 5 minute job at the dealer and done under warranty.

Gear Flickering

This happened to me as well, it turned out to be the wheel sensor, it went bad

I replaced my sensor which sits just below the exhaust on the right side. The part costs around $50

My dash was flickering all over the place and it was that little sensor.
