1299S headlight function

I have a 1299S with factory LED headlights. My service manual states the following:

Left-hand switch
1) Dip switch, light dip switch, two positions:
(A) every time it is pressed down the light switches from low beam on to low beam and high beam on;
(B) pushed to the sidehigh beam flasher
(FLASH), "Start-Stop lap" function.

Now that I have referenced the above instructions, I gather that when the high beams are engaged by pressing the switch down (to lock high beams on) that the low beam is intended to stay on with the high beam.

My low beam switches off when I engage the high beam, both when I flash by pulling the switch in as well as when I push the switch down.

How do your headlights behave?

I thought I read somewhere that the US models turn off the low beam when high beam is on, while the European market models have both on. This was due to the combined low and high beams being too bright for the road, regulation wise.

If you hear of how to reenable this please post it up! Not sure why brightness matters when your high beams are only used when there's no one coming.

Thanks man, I posted this so long ago and it died but you’re absolutely right, too many regulations here

If you know the basics of Electrical Engineering, you’ll be able to add this feature with hardware. All my service writers and master mechanics say it’s not possible to program it the euro way

Same thing with BrennTuning. They don’t do cruise control either
