Hey Guys, I put a 14 tooth front on the pani on the weekend and all I can say is... yeehaa!!! Certainly brought the bike to life! Much better all round on the road, way less snatchy being a little higher up in the revs. Highly recommend it.

Set it to EBC 2...even less snatchy because it addresses the sharp engine braking transition.

The sprockets seem to address the throttle on side of things, EBC the engine braking side of things.

I'll add that EBC 3 didn't feel quite natural to me. Something I can't articulate, but I prefer EBC 2.

Yeah I run EBC3, but to be honest the difference to me between 3 and 1 is hardly noticeable. Still seems to be a ton of engine braking even on 3.

Yup, a bunch of us did this in the early days until they fixed some issues with tuning. It was a bear to ride around 30 mph!

Tuning is generally the adjustment of the air to fuel mix. There is an ideal ratio, in which the tuner seeks to hit to optimize horse power. Its something like 13.2:1 or the like. At higher RPM it changes to get a bit more lean IIRC.

When you pose your question, what exactly are you asking? Tuning as most think of it isn't subject to gearing changes.

I have switched to a quick change ergal sprocket setup with 42 teeth way back in 2013. :D

Am I right in thinking that you need to change to a longer chain if you go to a 42t sprocket at the rear?
What is the advantage of that over just dropping the front sprocket to a 14t?
I'm speaking as a road and beginner/medium track day user so I wouldn't be bothering to swap the rear sprocket sizes again once i'd changed the ratio.
