I am a proud owner of a new 2016 1299S. My last bike was '09 1198 and I put 28K miles on it. Great bike but it was time for some new technology.

I am very interested in a new seat to replace my stock seat. I have looked at the Seargent seat for the 899 as that is the closest one they make. They say it may fit an 1199, but my question is will it therefore fit my 1299?

I have the Ducati comfort seat for my 1199, I like the fabric a lot, good cushion, and kinda "tacky" feeling to it so you dont slide around. A world of difference from the stock seat.

Perhaps find a Ducati store with an 899 and bring your bike. Ask to take the seats off and compare. It shouldn't be a big deal. Or ask around the shop.

How does the 1299 compare to the 1198?

Excellent - thank you!

I went ahead and ordered the 899 seat from Corbin. Judging from all that I read it seems to offer the best option for now. I had used a Sargent seat on my 1198 and loved it. It was a bit stiff at first but broke in nicely with time. I put 25K miles and 7 years on it and it got better with age. I am hoping for the same from Corbin. I will update when I get it.

Love the 1299s and it is a leap forward in all ways, but I do miss the mid-range torque of the 1198.
