So, my monster 1200R and I decided to part ways. It was a fun affair however another came along. She was tatted off for a new pikes peak, now let me be honest, I lived the monster. It was aggressive and could be ridden hard whole still maintaining casual day to day riding. I also always had the stigma that a multi was an old man's bike and I was way to young for it.....
Well, I was mistaken, this bike is awesome. For a bike this size it's extremely agile and can rip down a road with the best of them. The suspension and brakes are top notch(well they damn well better be) and the bike performs flawlessly. It's insane that you can rip down a backroad with it, theb casually set cruise control and smoothly ride down and road enjoying the cruise. An exhaust is going to be coming soon, maybe a few other bits. All in all, I love it, granted my Panigale R is still the bike of choice, but as a second bike, this thing is amazing. I'll be riding it all year long enjoying every mile.

I enjoyed your previous review with the Monster R. I think Multi is a great bike. Seem like all motorcycle enthusiasts love Ducati Multi.

I will consider it in the future for sure except it is little tall for me. How tall are you?

I'm 5'10 with a 32' inseam, I can get both feet on the ground with the seat in the tall position. It could always be lowered 20mm I believe. It really is a great bike, I was shocked at first when I rode it. I couldn't believe it was that agile. To be honest it reminds me of the Hyper 821 SP I had, very flickable and easy to ride.

I love my Multi too. Great all around bike for whatever you feel like doing that day.

I'm 5'7" and the Multi was always to tall for me. I sat on the new Pikes Peak like Kevin's and I can touch as well or better than the Pani now. Try out the new ones. The seats are lower.

Congrats again Kevin!!!

I was debating between the Pani and the PP MTS. I'd keep visiting with Peter and sitting on both bikes, but the Pani still felt more natural for me. But when the Anni came I was done for lol.

I still see a MTS in my future though. Great for a weekend or longer getaway I think.

Which do you think makes the better city bike though? The Monster or the MTS ?

Ok, so now that I'm home and have a drink in my hand. This bike really is awesome. At first I was hesitant because of the DVT ( variable timing). Also I felt that I shouldn't review it without the full exhaust because to me these bikes are so choked up with the stock pipes it really isn't what the machine is capable of. However, although it doesn't have the puck in your face torque the monster had its fast. I'd say it'd give the monster a run for it of not beat it. You can feel the torque wheb you get on it but the engine is butter smooth, it's almost deceptively fast. I do think some of it is the butterfly in the exhaust holding it back a little but don't get me wrong, while it doesn't have the punch in your face of torque it flat out goes. Seating position, and ride quality, I was laughing on my way back, the analogy I made for it was a magic carpet. Ride is smooth, absorbs bumps easily and even when hustling it, it never got out of shape. As far as everything else it's top notch, Cruise control is awesome, wind protection is amazing, on and on..... now as far as around town, this or the monster? Hands down this, the monster still had a somewhat sport bike aggression to it. As much as I love that, it felt like it want to be like a Panigale a little bit to much. The pikes feels alot like my Hyper did very nimble, easy to ride and very easy to ride fast, I think of it as a more pissed off hyper, that's easier to ride day to day. If you are considering a multi, ride one, it won me over.
Also, aside from the ducati superbikes, I believe this is the best one I have ever been lucky enough to own.

That's a good write up. Thanks. The Multis seem to be getting more and more popular. I'm seeing more and more of them around.

Congrats Kevin! I always admired the Multi! I want the Enduro so that I can pretend that I am Ernest Hemingway and ride around the world writing novels, making love to the locals and fighting off bears without weapons! I probably should have kept some of that to myself.:p

I believe I have three of the best bikes available to someone who likes sports riding.

If I had to whittle those three down to just one, the Multistrada would be the keeper.

I'm 5'7", so 2014 and prior Multistrada's were just to tall for me. The 2015 is manageable.

One problem, at my smallish size, with a full tank of gas, the Multistrada can be tough to get vertical off the side stand if it's leaning a little left. I can't imagine I could ever get the Enduro, with an 8 gallon tank full, upright.

I've kept my 2015 MS bone stock from the exhaust standpoint. My dealer dynode my bike before and after the oct 2015 map update. It made 140rwhp before and 144rwhp after. They had dyno'd a 2015 with the full Termi system and it made 140rwhp, so nothing gained there except the reduction of 17lbs and $2400 to the persons wallet.

I did test ride this bike with the full Termi system, it felt like it had a little more punch in the mid range, but was very loud.

I bought my Multistrada to replace a large touring bike, so the thought of listening to the loud exhaust on 400+ mile multi day weekend trips, just turned me off of it, and yes I do wear ear plugs under my Arai and Shoei helmets.

I ride mine with the engine in sports mode and the suspension in Touring. The suspension just soaks up all bumps and road irregularities, it's Cadillac smooth but composed even for fast corner carving. With the suspension in sport mode, it gets a little more like other Ducati's where you start to feel the bumps and get your butt kicked out of the seat on some of them.

The only thing I'd like to see on the bike is a steering damper, the front end can get a little exciting in high speed sweepers.

I bought a 2016 Hyper SP recently to commute with and every time I ride it I can't get the grin off my face. I'd imagine the PP Multi being a very similar fun factor. I'm 5'6" so it's a little sketch touching the ground at times where it's uneven pavement but no worse than my dirt bike so I'm use to it. What I noticed about a MS Enduro I sat on recently is that the width makes it even more of a struggle to reach the ground. Add to that the weight and there's no way I'd be comfortable riding it. I'd imagine the PP Multi being a nice in between and still very manageable.

Congrats! It's a sweet looking machine.

Thanks man, I lived my Hyper. I rode it all year round, I figured the next logical step was a multi after the SP. However my 1200R tempted before the pikes was out. But yes, this bike feels like a hyper, granted it's bigger but riding it in the twisted or reminds me of riding my Hyper.
