Respectable. It's a seriously tough track on a big bike.

I would suggest playing with gearing. It is hard to get on the gas full throttle out of corners without the rear pumping which means you have to manage the throttle instead of getting on the gas. A larger front sprocket and smaller rear smooths it out a ton.

I ran 2 weeks ago at CVMA with a 16T front and a 38-41 rear (experimented with different sizes to find the best fit for the track). It was the first time I have ever been full throttle out of almost every corner and it was still pulling the front end off the ground (thanks wheelie control!). Never had a single issue with pumping in the rear. Was running 1:55's which was a second faster than the last round.

As far as brakes, try the Brembo ZO4 pads... amazing.

You Cali guys are so lucky! I'm jonesing to ride bad!! Last season I had a nasty wreck and separated both of my shoulders and was unconscious for about five minutes. My ohlins cartridges somehow came unscrewed from the caps, not good in a 120 mph corner.

Haha I swapped in a set of Z04 pads first thing Saturday morning! Wasn't a huge difference over stock but definitely gave more confidence braking deeper into the corner. I feel like I can get under the 2 min mark pretty easily just pushing more corner speed. Definitely still getting used to figuring out how to stand the bike up sooner and grab more throttle on corner exit. Made some rear setup changes and wow was it different. So much more compliant and helped me keep the front wheel down.

Buddy how in the hell does that happen? Just the torque of the triple clamp should hold them in place from spinning. Man that sucks, hope you're ok!

You sure you weren't pulling the clutch instead of the brake? ;)

In my experience they are miles different then stock, way more initial bite and don't fade as quickly. I tried several different brake pads before I finally bit the bullet and ponied up for Z04's. Never looked back.

Truthfully I have been slowly replacing all the brake parts on the bike. I just got a set up Brembo GP4-RX's to complete the transition... nothing stock left.

I'm just comparing to my 848 which had the brembo RCS, Braketech axis rotors, and dp xrac pads. That bike stopped like a mofo!!!

Put abs on 1 and squeeze the hell out of it. If you can't pull sharper braking than your 848 there is something wrong. Abs braking requires a little brain recalibration.
Mind you it is also likely you're arriving to the corner at much higher speed too.

Good question, I have no idea!! It did suck, getting injured and cut my season in half. I've invested in the dainese Dair suit for this season.

Braking her down to get ready for the next evolution! FGRT203's and TTX GP enroute!

Hey guys, just had my first track weekend on the new bike and man what a difference from the 848evo. Didn't carry speed through the corners like the EVO but it more than made up for it on corner exit and down the straight! Chuckwalla is better for a middle weight bike so adjusting to a bike with 55 more horsepower was going to be a challenge. All in all I was close to my best lap times from last year in just two days of testing. One question I had was what your thoughts were of the stock quickshifter. I'm running a rapid bike race ecu and the shifts are clunky. Shifting into 4th gear close to redline had my chin banging off the tank all weekend. Any of you experienced this?

Cool photo.
Re your quickshift experience. I have the TB system and cut the delay time for shifts by half and found that, that has made it a lot smoother. Perhaps you can do that with RB, not sure as I do not know the product. Just thought I would mention it. You can adjust delay time on a pc with TB.

Yeah I don't think the RB has an adjustment for the quickshifter. I'll email them to find out.

Also finished a little detail wrapping and a decal that will give my track fairings a little more finished look.
