Do you even own an 1199? If so, do you even ride it?
It will get old when the bike stops falling apart...I dont see that happening anytime soon.
Felice Sabato Ducatisti,
First. I got a call from the factory about an 899 request I had made in a comment in an email exchange with the guys in Bologna.
Who (and I really detest this saying) in today's world, receives a phone call from the factory ? Especially about an $17,000 motorcycle ?
Really ? Anybody else here get a phone call from Ducati factory ever ?
I am still so blown away by this. The same way I was that first time I got on my new Scrambler decades ago.
Got more information on the superleggera today. Delivery date is April to May. Everybody who missed the first round has about 24 hrs to come up with the deposit for the last two left.
The point is that his bike sucks. And he makes it ad nauseum until it's become pointless.

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you've been around, so you know not to listen to the folks that over extend their finances and whine about mechanical failures. As if, the more you pay for something the less problems you should have. I think if you have the bank, get the SL. No question. It doesn't matter whether you can ride it with in an inch of its life, if you can afford it, get it.
To the response to my last post. You may not know but years ago Ducati made a little motorcycle which was properly named a Scrambler. I had a wide-case 350 a '68 if my brain still servers me well.
Since being a teenagers I have owned Ducati motorcycles of different series and from Monsters, and Multistradas to the current 1098s (street legal) & it's little friend the '11 1098r reserved for more spirited use.
I also have a few Pantas & have had a couple of larger L twin bevel drives (both Super Sports) throughout my adult life. I hope that's enough of a quality and qualifies me to be a part of this forum.

I was only asking as these bikes were supposed to be invite only but i had said if you had the cash and walked into a dealer you could just buy one. No offense was meant and i'm looking forward to hearing about the experience.
Hello Ducatisti,
I am one of the lucky ones I suppose.
The powers that be have rewarded me
with the right to pay for a R-SL.
I am honored. I believe the new platform
has proven to be a great motorcycle and
with the new 899's on the road, seems to
be a true replacement for the xx98 series.
I am reading the reviews here and since
you folks have also proven yourselves, I
thought I would come join your party. So,
Happy Two year birthday to this forum.
Glad to be here,
Andy
