2012 vs 2013 2015

There really isn't any change till the new model, and even then it's not huge, duel spark motor but still same HP, led headlight, but mostly the same bike.

yeah, the DS engine is mostly a precursor for more stringent euro emissions laws, the earlier testa engine is sensational with the emissions crap turned off, and the headlight looks a whole lot better IMO

The ducati dealer told me that the twin spark engine is smoother, but I would test drive both if it was me buying. I have the older version with the straight led and think it looks better than the square.

Big Cruising Difference 2015's

The changes Ducati made to the 2015 Diavel Motors makes a really big difference in RPM' ranges under 4k. I traded in my 2012 Diavel for a dual spark 2015 model and WOW, I can now cruise around town ever so slowly with effortless starts. My 2012 Diavel needed faster RPM's and of course speed to smooth out/run well. My 2015 at times runs so well at low RPM's and low speeds that the on-lookers scratch their heads and likely wonder if the bike is as fast as it looks? Note, I switched over the full Termi's from my 2012 to my 2015 (new ECU of course).

You changed??? :) did you have to make any sort of changes to the termi? How did you changed mapping? 2012 has new Ecu and 2015 only has a flash drive ...

2012 vs 2015 ECU's

My Termi's, Ohlin's (front and rear) and all other accessories were taken off my 2012 and put on my 2015 Diavel. The only accessory that I had to leave behind was the roadster windscreen because of some changes to the handlebar brackets. As far as the ecu, my dealer ordered another one for my 2015 Diavel which I believe costed around $350 dollars. I found out that the Ducati ecu's (once put on a bike) become proprietary to that bike and will never work with another bike. Therefore, my 2012 ecu was worthless to me and went with my original bike just in case the new owner ever switches up to a termi or another free-flow exhaust system that could use the proprietary performance ecu. Lastly, During this costly switch over, I had my stainless steal Termi's sent to a shop which coated them in black ceramic which didn't even effect the carbon tail or termi-decal in the process (WOW). The pipes run cooler and I'm not constantly cleaning them as I needed to do when they were stainless steal...FYI...

But 2012 has a different fitting in the front header than the 2015 how was he able to fit it??? I'm asking that because I can find 2012 termis for good price and I'm curious to see how yours where fitted in the 2015 version ... Everybody tells me that they are not compatible due to the front header being different :)

If I remember the Termi-conversion from my 2012 Diavel to my new 2015 model, the dealer took off my 2012 headers and sent them off to get ceramic coated. The dealer then took the new 2015 headers and mounted it on my traded in 2012 Diavel. The older style 2012 remaining exhaust system which was new and stored in a box was then mounted on the 2015 headers and the bike got sold off to another dealer. I'll see if the service guy remembers the process to confirm what I've just said. Anyway, I was unaware that there were differences in the headers between the 2012 and 2015 Diavel's. Of course, the stock exhaust pipes were changed as was the emu's which you won't be able to use from the 2012 Termi's your looking into. I suggest you see if Ducati is still willing to supply a ECU only for the 2015 bike since the 2012 Termi's will come with the older ones?

Not yet talked with the service people whom installed the Termi's but, had a chance to compare the online part numbers from the Pro Italia's oem parts schematics and the header, vertical and horizontal pipes are reflecting the same numbers (2012 and 2015's/Diavels). Not sure why your being told the 2012 term's won't fit?
